hannse12 Posted April 7, 2014 Share Posted April 7, 2014 I just received my y500 with sli 650m, and i was having a horrible time with random crashes, freezing, etc. i decided it would be easier if i just put in my samsung 830 ssd, and install windows 7.i still have the 1tb drive with windows 8 on it, but not install disks to reinstall from. i really want to use the 1tb as an external usb drive, so i'm looking for ways to potentially reinstall windows 8 (if i ever decide to) as close to oem as possible.i know windows 8 handles licensing differently, and i used this oem folder method before when reinstalling a sony, but i wonder; would it work on the lenovo y500 series with windows 8?any thoughts ?here is the link: Win 8.x • Win 7 • Vista - 'Multi-OEM' ISO Project Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
