sarhan Posted June 29, 2013 Share Posted June 29, 2013 Hello, I recently purchased a m17x r2 with the 7970m. I believe its the 7970m that dell provides, not sure. I am having a few problems which I think are GPU related: -White, discolored screen on boot up - requires me to boot a couple times before I get a working screen -When running furmark my laptop crashes after hitting temps of 80-85. -Need to use HWiNFO to run the fans properly or they are always stuck at around 2500 rpm I did some research and it seems I will need to change the bios on the 7970m, if so, what bios should I get etc? Nospheratu Posted June 30, 2013 Share Posted June 30, 2013 Welcome sarhan It seems you have a Dell 7970M. I would suggest you to flash the stock vBIOS in SVL7's 7970M vBIOS pack here. With regards to your temps you may need to repaste to try to lower your temps as Dell 7970M's are reported to shutdown when reaching 80c-85c in our machines.
