Looking to flash Nvidia 680m GTX 4gb

Recommended Posts

I was searching on how to unlock the 3d Vision of the card and stumbled across this information which caught my eye and had me very curious: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2062-using-your-4gb-gtx-680m-its-safest-full-potential.html. I had read quite a bit here on this but also confused a bit as well, (and also need to reach 5 post so I can download the information and maybe give it a try). My laptop is the Ibuypower edition of Valkyrie (which is based off of the MSI GT70) with the 680m GTX installed.

I also looked at this link here http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks.html.

I am curious as to which download I need to start the flash process, how to back up my old flash in case I mess up?

If I missed something I am sorry as at times I blank out and then confuse myself. lol

Hello. My recommendation would be to ask questions and participate in discussion in the second thread you mentioned for the http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks.html.

Instructions on VBIOS flashing posted here: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2166-%5Bguide%5D-nvidia-vbios-flashing.html

If the card is 3d vision capable it's only a question of installing the proper driver. It will work fine on an external screen if the laptop has a DP connector which can handle 120Hz, or DVI.

3d support on the internal screen is down to hardware and firmware.
