Fendrix
Hi guys, I used the laptop in the morning no problem, came back from work and I'm getting no post with 8 beeps. Last month my GPU died, I tried to bring it to life but no go, since I was already inside I repasted the CPU thermal compound. For the past 3 weeks I've been running the laptop with the GPU disabled. No problem until yesterday. I know I had pressed Fn+F7 by accident that morning before I got the beeps. I'm thinking that might be the reason. I've tried the cmos battery method. remove cmos, drain power, bridge pins, reconnect. Power on and I got 5 beeps. Power off and back on. Powering on the 2nd time the laptop does not post but resets itself and I'm back to 8 beeps. Can I get help please. Fun Fact: I bought a GTX 780m and heatsink online 2 weeks ago. Expecting the GPU to arrive this week.
Fendrix
I've resolved the problem myself I removed the GPU and now my laptop is booting. I have no idea why that worked. Can someone explain?
