  1. Hello everyone,, I need your expertise, I have a m17 r4, (2012) unlocked A15 bios thanks to Klem, it has a Gtx 675m in it now, I would like to know the best GPU to upgrade to without losing a lot of the factory functions of the alienware laptop, like being able to use both VGA functions such as intel 4000, and the factory bios for the cooling of the GPU, I don't want to solely rely on the nvidia As a full dedicated GPU, let me know what VGA card to get and what vbios to use, I will gladly donate beer to you for your help, or point me to a member on this forum who can help me, Thanks, Shelby, Aka captcavy
  2. Hello everyone! I've run into a bit of a problem - I knowingly bought a 770M to replace the 660M I had previously installed in my M17R4, having done a bit of reading on the trouble it was to install - the clincher being that instead of the recommended 680M being ~£120 more expensive than the 770M I got for £160. I noted that I would need to flash an unlocked BIOS onto my board, but underestimating how difficult it would be to procure one. This site seems to be the only site hosting one. I followed the guide on this subforum as far as I could, but I don't seem to be allowed to download the BIOS itself, I'm assuming because I haven't posted enough. My question is, to save me from wasting £160, does anyone know of any alternative links or would anyone be able to upload the file for me? I mean no disrespect of course, this seems like a marvellous and useful site, and were there such a thing as a premium account I would definitely pay for the privilege to download the required BIOS file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

  4. Hello, I have a little problem with my laptop (M17r4): once out of ten times I am able to boot normaly. Otherwise I get a repetitive one bip from the speakers and it doesn't boot. After some talk with Dell people, it could come from a corrupted bios. All the internal Dell diagnostics are OK (RAM, CPU,...). So I tried to flasn a new Bios ( am currently in A09). From Windows, the update program will execute very quickly and when it reboots, I get a "insyde H20-secure flash error : invalid firmware image". Then the system is reseted... If I try the update from a USB stick, I boot on the stick, run the official bios update and I get a " Test." And then nothing... I tried with official A09, 10, 11, 12 and even 08. Same behavior... I run Windows 7, legacy boot. If someone has any idea on how to fix that, your help would be appreciated. 😀 Thanks.
