  1. damn really? you think a ATI 6770 would run better then the GTX 560Ti? also any word on the FSB Overclock?
  2. isent there an option in nvida control pannel?
  3. 2 things, 1 o dont have optimus, and 2 its detecting that because i did not close the program before i plugged it in. i just re ran it, and now its saying same score, but it reconnizes my eGPU as the GTX. so why are mine incredibly low compared to yours? would you be able to disable optimus and run a 3dmark06 benchmark so i can compare?
  4. single player or multiplayer? - - - Updated - - - heres my 3DMark06 scores my dGPU-ATI Radeon 540v my eGPU-PNY GTX 560Ti my eGPU-PNY GTX 560 Ti OVERCLOCKED more over stock- 950mhz core 2400mhz memory
  5. im downloading 3dmark06 now ill let you know my scores asap
  6. ive set EVERYTHING i can to performance. nothing helps. you are running pci 1.0 x1 speeds? also do u have optimus? this is not fair! why does mine suck so much.ive tried it on both 6770 and gtx 560 with the same results. no better gaming experience... I get a whopping 15-20 fps in mw2 occasional spike to 40 or 60fps. rare tho thank you! SLG8SP587V
  7. dell studio 1458 pe4h 1.1 x1 EC2C core i5 560m @3.2 ghz 6gb ram DDR3 intel 330 series SSD pny gtx 560 Ti OC i have a few games thT play really good dirt3 bfbc2 games that play ok black ops farcry 3 battlefield 3 games that suck modern warfare 2 world at war forsaken world modern warfare test drive unlimited 2 like i said before, no matter what i make r\the resolution or graphic settings, it dosent help the only games that do make difference is bfbc2 and dirt 3
  8. @Khenglish what do you mean? i have my PLL number if you need that. alright so i am ONLY capaible of running at PCI 1.0 but i hear that the PE4H is not even running at PCI 1.0 speeds and that its like crippled. i thought that getting the PE4L will fix that problem. a lot of games that i play lag quite a bit including farcry 3 which i love a lot. no matter how much i Overclock the GPU, turn down the graphic settings, etc, i always get the same FPS in most games. so with that in mind, would getting the PE4L increase my performance at all with a GTX 560 Ti OC GPU?
  9. so my notebook is only applicable of PCI 1.0 x1 speeds. optimus is not available to me. im in contact with redtrontech on ebay to see if i can get an exchange for my pe4h to his pe4l. but with the pe4l and a gtx 560Ti OC edition, how much of an increase of bandwidth will i receive about? because as of now, i can not even play call of duty it lags so much regardless of graphic settings. this is what i mean: also how do i go about Overclocking my FSB to get more pci bandwidth? i have found my PLL, but setfsb and clockgen do not support it. what can i do?
  10. i cant even play call of duty with mine. and you are on pci 1.0 x1 speeds with optimus? also how can i go about overclocking my FSB, i found my pll, but i can not find a program that will support it
  11. well damn if i knew that...... i have a gtx 560ti OC edition. do you think there would be a difference?
  12. well that sucks. so there would be no performance difference between pe4h or pe4l when on pci 1.0/1.1?
  13. well thats f-ing retarded! why the hell did i buy a pe4h thats more expansive then the pe4l thats cheaper and supports more?!?!?!
  14. i have to take appart my MOBO and see what kind i have. but im going to try and use a program called "SetFSB" what PCI link do you have? what resolution do you game on and do u get any lag at all?
  15. did you OC the GPU or FSB? i was talking about OCing the FSB. also r u running on PCI 1.0 or 2.0? and what speed? x1 or x2? if your on PCI 1.0 x1, do you receive a ridiculous about of lag with some games that make them unplayable?
  16. so how else can i increase the bandwidth and get better performance? im working on the OC now....
  17. ohhh i can disconnect the little adapter thing tho lol so X1E is not possible eaither..... damn! seems thins whole project was a huge waste of money! any other performance tips besides overclocking?
  18. alright ill look into that. last time i tried any overclocking with just programs, i could never do it. also i cant do a X1E link if i disconnect my Ethernet and link ports 1 and 2?
  19. i found this on dell website "The WWAN card slot on the Studio™ 1457/1458 system is located on the bottom Left hand corner underneath the base plate. Use this slot for WWAN cards only. WLAN cards do not work in this slot and should not be installed here." is there anything else i can do as far as increase bandwidth? ive already set everything to performance in nvidia control pannel, and set color to 16bit, and using modded drivers. im sick of only being able to play 2 games with the eGPU. like i want to at least be able to play call of duty..... can i combine ports 1 and 2 for x2 or x1E or something like that? i dont use the Ethernet and never have since i bought my computer.... check this out...... this is what i was trying to solve. ALL call of duty games lag like crazy, but dirt 3 and BFBC2 are completely playable on high settings....?
  20. ok so after some testing, here is what i come up with.... i got my gtx to work when i plug it into the WLAN port on my laptop. it installed fine and everything. however, i can not get anything to work on the WWAN port. whether i plug in the eGPU or the wifi card, it does not detect it. however i can plug in the PE4H into it via PM3N and then a USB thumb driv into that. it will detect the usb..... so now what? my Express card slot is port 2 and my wifi card is port 3. my Ethernet port is port 1 i would imagine that the WWAN is port 4. i dont use Ethernet, but i would like to still have my wifi working since i play online games only.
  21. when i pluged it in, i tried both hotplug and preboot. let me attach the wifi card in wwlan and see if it works.....
