1. That's a Clevo (subvendor ID 1558) 960M. Picture caption even says "GTX9X0M.jpg" (GG Prema ;)). So it confirms 960M is a rebadged 860M with higher core clock. Old 860M boost is new 960M base. 79 MHz is a pitiful OC though.

  2. So after the clean and re-pasting thermal helped me but i see another strange thing.

Gpu-Z and Nvidiainspectior, Memory clock is seems different. wht should i have to belive?

Both are correct. GPU-Z sensor shows actual memory frequency, Inspector doubles it because DDR (double data rate).

  3. no... actually i did not. I did find that in BF4 with that driver i was getting much better frame rates, much higher than normal! Im guessing this is to do with the limited Directx 12 support? The driver ran well to start with but then i ran in to a bad stutter problem. Beacuse i installed windows 10 preview on a raid 0 set up, when i go into safe boot to uninstall the driver with Display Driver Uninstaller, windows 10 gives me an error stating that it can not recognize my hardware. To uninstall that driver properly i will have to reinstall the whole system again. I may do this again to day and try a fresh install of it. CODAW still ran very well but that is all the games i had available to try. I still did not notice a frame drop in CODAW with DSR on. :confusion: Again im not sure if the limited support for Directx 12 is covering the lack of frame rate drop.

    BF4 and CoD:AW are DX11 not DX12. DX12 games don't release until the holidays.

No drop means DSR isn't working. SSAA has a massive impact on FPS.

  4. How so? That wasn't that idiot ManuelG this time.

    Because:

As you know, we are constantly tuning and optimizing the performance of your GeForce PC.

We obsess over every possible optimization so that you can enjoy a perfectly stable machine that balances game, thermal, power, and acoustic performance.

Still, many of you enjoy pushing the system even further with overclocking.

Our recent driver update disabled overclocking on some GTX notebooks. We heard from many of you that you would like this feature enabled again. So, we will again be enabling overclocking in our upcoming driver release next month for those affected notebooks.

If you are eager to regain this capability right away, you can also revert back to 344.75.

Nvidia has until next month to go back on its word or delay the driver. Remember, PeterS is the same employee who, during 970 VRAMgate, made the statement about refunds and a driver fix and retracted both the very next day.

  5. Nice. Didn't know it was that simple. Nvidia is the king of artificial limitations. Like how I technically "can't" run ShadowPlay or stream to Shield on my notebook due to not having a GTX GPU, but can when I add -shadowplay -gamestream to the end of the GeForce Experience shortcut? Absolutely retarded company. I can't wait for them to see the smirk on our faces when we enable DSR before they do and re-enable overclocking.

  6. ShadowPlay works fine for mobile GPUs and has for a very long time. Most of the videos in my YouTube channel were recorded using ShadowPlay. https://www.youtube.com/user/MrFoxRox2

I think @kingsknight is referring to ShadowPlay desktop capture, which is not available on mobile. You need to use desktop capture to capture windowed and OpenGL games as well as general screen recording outside of games.

  7. Test it yourself. Make a custom resolution and fire up a game without changing any other settings. The heat will go up significantly. Or don't believe me, I don't care either way. I know I've done testing on my system and found that to be factual.

Using SSAA has never made any of my GPUs run hotter than they did without SSAA, unless they weren't at constant 99% usage before. SSAA is not a power virus.
