  1. Since you have a gaming laptop, I'll assume you like to game. In that case, I'd probably recommend an Samsung 840 (not Pro) 120gb SSD. It's just around $100 and will get you faster read speeds than the V300, and better reliability as well. Sequential write speeds may not be as fast, but it's not very important for gaming or most tasks.

    To throw in my 2 cents, I'm toying with putting a SSD in my file server, and for the money, the 120GB Samsung 840 can't be beat at $100.

  2. It just adds an option in the BIOS to set RAID if you ever need it. The only difference is, once you flash the BIOS you will need to set the SATA Mode back to AHCI or else the system will try to boot in RAID0.

    It's easier to unlock BIOS with RAID as many people have systems with RAID and having one for RAID and one without is pointless if you can just disable RAID.

    Awesome, I was wondering if this was the case, as I couldn't find any differences otherwise listed for my buddies GT780DX vs the GT780DXR.
