  1. so wait a minute, where did you buy it from? if thats the case then its a whole different story man. you should of taking it back to here it was purchased from.

I bought it from a person who bought it from dell. It doesnt make a whole lot of difference. They want to bitch about it. I left a negative feedback on their website and hopefully they are going to react for it.

Believe it or not, they have to review my review! BULLSHIT.

  2. Your still in your return period, so that's pretty bs of them to not accept a return. Keep calling until you find a decent rep that's willing to help. Or get in contact with one of the Dell reps on here or nbr. Also try leaving Facebook or Twitter comments at the same time.

What they told me is since you didnt buy it directly from us, we cant do that for you! bullshit. Im going to leave a negative feedback on their website and also ask respectable reviewer to do that. The only option available for me is to do damage to the reputation of the company.

  3. if you just received it, then you can return it. don't call tech support, try calling customer support instead since its new. don't fix it, either get a new replacement or refund.

Well, Just called, the answer is NO! its a minor issue that requires a replacement of the motherboard! amazing just amazing. They also told me you didnt purchase the computer directly from us, which means Im pretty much fucked up!

  4. Return it and get them to send a replacement as a new laptop shouldn't have this issue.

They refuse to return the unit, they can only fix by replacing the motherboard! I really dont know how this is possible but Id rather to fix the motherboard connection. If anyone knows how to fix that please help. LED Lights + logo board had been already swapped and it didnt fix the issue.

  5. 860m exists as MXM, but that's the GK104 part. The GM106 part has only been seen as on-board solution so far. However, the 780m / 880m are out of reach for both of them.

Thanks +Rep, an overclocked 860m Maxwell would smoke 780m! I guess there is no point in getting 8 series.

and (offtopic) do you think laptop is great for its price?

I bought it new for 1350$.

  6. I have a new alienware 17 and I would like to get int o changing voltages so that I can get into some real overclocking with this bad boy. how would one be able to do this (im a noob i know)

Keep adding .05V and test, I think the ceiling is 1.25 or something.

GPU is only possible unless you have a unlocked CPU right?

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

No, two separate things. You need an unlocked bios for the cpu, and for the gpu, you have to flash it with a proper bios. In other words you have to summon SV17 if the bios isnt available!

  7. Hi there, its been a while, the last time Ive been here is when I bought an 660m GTX got my asus G53JW. Anyways, 860m are listed in alienware official website, and the sad thing is there are two versions (thanks nvidia for misleading customers) Kepler and Maxwell, Ive read in a site that a maxwell 860m can be overclocked to match 780m and it is a solid second to 880m; this however was found on an Asus G series soldered 860m. I would like to know how well "good" is alienware laptop in terms of cooling under high stressed and overclocking? and If a 860m Maxwell MXM edition ever released, how well its going to be overclocked?

Special thanks to you all and especially to sv17, by the way A07 has been released MAKE THE UNLOCKED BIOS NOW OR THIS SITE IS GOING TO HACKED, ok just kidding I only have love for ya ;_) no homo.

Regards and sorry for my shit English.

  9. Quite honestly I've owned mostly ATI cards my whole life. I dooo like the Nvid's but they are a bit pricier. As of right now I have a 7950 with a 7970 BIOS flashed on it. Works awesome. Mine is the Sapphire Dual-X 7950, and under full load with fans at 100% it doesn't even touch 55C which is pretty impressive. Many people complain about hiccups in performance but I have yet to see mine randomly hiccup unless is my old processor being bogged down lol. Do some research, watch some benchmark vid's, I can assure you that if there's an Nvidia card out there, there's an ATI card that costs less and can overclock to that level :D

First off, thanks, and secondly, they are no longer ati :D Ive watched countless videos, price/performance ratio is much higher for amd cards, anyways, amd is going to release 8 series in 2014; however, nvidia is going to release the seven series in few weeks, which bothers me a lot!.

    Regards.

  10. GTX 780 sounds great! :) I think it'll be great even with current gen CPUs.

Thank you all. The launching price is about 650-700+ $, which is insane!, I might cut ties with nvidia after a long 13 years journey, I might even switch to amd HD 7970 GHZ edition even though its an outdated card, I can afford to a gtx titan or a sli 780 GTX, but nvidia now a days is mistreating their beloved customers and belittling them, just because they are not competing with amd anymore thats doesnt mean to rise prices as much as they want!. At last, I found a good site to get parts for minimum prices, I'm not sure whether I can link you to it or not, please let me know.

Regards and sorry for my bad English.

  11. The price "drops" can be very weird. For example, look at the CPUs. There's still the same price on Sandy Bridge i5-2500K as it was way back, and for some reason it costs exactly the same as i5-3570K. But, look on the bright side -- it could be way worse, like it is with smartphones. :D

Thanks a lot for your help, Im going to wait two months maximum, and I hope I can get a new GTX 780 system ^^ and a haswell if its not delayed, asus already have announced a new ROG mobo for the new gen CPUs.

I would commit a huge mistake and waste tons of cash, Im very happy to be a techinferno member.

  12. If you're not in a hurry and can wait few weeks, rumour are that new 700 series nvidias coming out mid day.

Price should be around 800$, Im not crazy enough to blow that much on a gpu :D. Maybe, there is a price drop soon.

My final conclusion is to wait till june :/ by that time Nvidia's 780GTX price would be dropped significantly and I think I can get a haswell board for a decent price :/ Fucking technology.

  13. Looks like the newegg shopping cart to me.

Also, if you don't buy everything at once, you can get certain components for really cheap. Wait for a sale, Might take a month and a half, but you can save some money which is always a plus.

I get a 5% of anything I buy as long as its above 400$.

  14. I would also strongly advise you to custom build, less than one day of watching youtube clips and taking your time will save you HEAPS.

Unreal raises a good point, what resolution is the monitor you're using?

This is a rough idea of how much more powerful you could make the build.

This is my build ;) anyways, does this site assemble all parts?!, btw Im using a 1080p monitor.

  15. I'm afraid that by the time that happens, there'll already be what 1-2 new CPU architectures (probably applies to GPUs as well). Buying stuff for something that *might* happen few years ahead is IMHO waste of money.

Then again, buying a pre-made $2K desktop is an equal waste too. :) Just for comparison Brian, how much did your stuff came out to?

I know its a waste but I keep a desktop for 5-7 years, I don't want to get outdated :/ soon.

  16. No haswell for 2011, it's coming on 1155 first. 2011 is still waiting for IB-E which will likely be irrelevant (Slightly faster clock for clock but probably won't OC like SB-E).

A 4770K Won't work in a Rampage because it's a different socket, it physically will not fit. Just wanted to make sure that's 100% understood. The Asus Maximus V Extreme is very similar to the Rampage, but will accept the 4770k.

If this build is for gaming I would strongly suggest staying with socket 1155, haswell will be out in June if you want to wait that long.

Where will you be ordering from? I'm happy to do a "What I would buy" list, but I need a starting point. Preferably a store with an english option. :)
