I contacted widezu on advice I didn't see much help in the link though, maybe changing the values to 99, but thats about it?

Do you know how I can find the amp for the m14x? Also, will increasing the amp of the processor help increase it's clock rate? I increased the reference clock by 3MHz and for some reason, it seems to be going even slower
-
Yes, it does take the 2860QM The Dell Online Store: Build Your System Also, I can change the reference clock rate where I could not in the BIOS with XTU
-
Oh alright. However, I was able to change the reference clock rate in XTU when I could not in BIOS. I set my reference clock rate from 100.00 MHz to 103.00 MHz Also what about the core current limit? Its set to 0.000 A PS: Autotune failed miserably.
-
Yeah, I think the overvolting of the GPU via BIOS was the biggest enhancement of my m14x. Thank you svl! Also, I believe the bios is unlocked, but when I try to run XTU's autotune, it fails. I will try and tr

Doesnt svl7's BIOS mod for overvolting the GPU say it's unlocked? Idk, I am heading to bed now, I will use the XTU's AutoTune with "Aggressively Over Specifications" and the 140-260min timeframe
-
I'm using XTU, it looks like I can overvolt and overclock using this utility. Does it actually work?
-
Well I mean my BIOS said that my RAM was operating at 2133 MHz and CPU-Z said 1333. Is there a known problem with CPU-Z not reading the correct volts?
-
I try to change the volt settings on the memory, but when I check CPU-Z, it always reads 1.5V
-
Would you recommend I set the volts of the RAM to 1.65 and then clock to AUTO? Would it make it perform faster? Also, is there a way to monitor RAM temperatures?

Achieving High OC Rates on GPU
raymosrunerx replied to raymosrunerx's topic in Alienware M14x / AW 14
Would anyone mind telling me what they have their OC set at? Also, I tried to lower the clock of the memory and up the cores, and it made the performance worse for whatever reason -
Achieving High OC Rates on GPU

Here's the thing though, my temp has never exceeded 90 C, it has always been upper 80s. I don't think upper 80s is considered too hot, although I could be wrong... Also, how would one go about repasting? Is there a visual manual out there somewhere? -
Achieving High OC Rates on GPU

Yeah, I used svl7's overvolt mod... That's how I found this forum in the first place hahaha, I think that thread (specifically that page) is really famous -
Hello all, I was wondering if there is a way to go above 800/1600/1080 on my GPU overclock. Any higher crashes when I run MSI Kombustor
-
So... Here's a vid I made really quick. I tried to confirm with CPU-Z on the clock rate and it still says its 664.7 (which is 1333 dual channel). Any ideas on why it is still set to 2133? I did use the BIOS mod for GPU overvolting by svl7, but I don't think that has anything to do with it Alienware m14x 2133MHz Overclock on Default 4GB RAM and i5-2140m - YouTube

Also, does anyone know if the OC rates of the GPU is directly related to the processor I have? It seems to max out at 800/1600/1080 for me
-
Hello all, So I just realized that with an i5 processor, the best clock rate I can possibly get is 1333. I read somewhere that you can easily change the processor on the m14x since it isn't soldered into the board. Are there any recommendations for cheap, mobile i7s? Thanks! Raymosrunerx
-
So the max I can go in RAM speeds on an i5 is 1333?
-
Thanks! I think I will send the order in for this. Do you know how to configure the XMP profile? I saw the option to in my BIOS, but I dont know what to set it to, profile 1, 2, or custom?
-
Hi! Is there a better product you would recommend? I was also trying to upgrade to 16gb (2x8gb) rather than 8, but I cant seem to find ones that have nice heat dispersion.

Hello everyone, I've had an alienware m14x for a while now, and I've been looking to upgrade my RAM. Currently, I have the i5-2410m processor, and I think that the maximum clock rate I can get to is 1333MHz. I heard alot of people using this as their upgrade and had commented that this has nice heat dispersion Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 HyperX Plug n Play Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G I was wondering if there is a 1333MHz option to that model? I can't seem to find it. Any help is greatly appreciated! Raymosrunerx PS: I really like this forum, I stumbled upon this the other day and decided to give it a go... I got my GPU to go 800/1600/1080, which is pretty sweet http://forum.techinferno.com/alienware-m14x/561-%5Bmod%5D-voltage-increase-nvidia-gt-555m-7.html
