  1. The highest I have seen the GPU fans spin up to is 4,200 rpms.

    I am currently also running dual 980m SLI, I am using 2 modified AMD 100watt 3-pipe heatsinks. I don't see my temps go above 70°C even while benchmarking. Also using Prema's vBIOS v2 for Clevo on Dell cards.

    here are my settings.

    Another useful tip:

    Once you have HWiNFO autostart setup, to automatically start the fan control too, you need to put the following entry at the end of the HWiNFO32/64.INI file:
    OpenFanCtrlMin=1
    Just make sure this entry in under the [Settings] section.

  2. @ntmtsg @swick is currently working on the BIOS for the M18X R1, He just got back after an extended away period. If it is possible, It should only be a matter of time.

    @huangsj Just for diagnostic purposes... Try using nVidia Inspector to downclock you card(s) and see if you still BSOD, Also adjust your power plan settings to Balance or Power saving (temporally) , I'm guessing that you are on the right path about being under amped.

  3. I have dual 980m in SLI I came dual 7970m CF. (used the same heat sinks running at a cool 70°C while bench marking with 3dmark11. Oh also running @Prema V2 generic vBIOS for the Clevo cards on a Dell cards. They run well about 90% of the time, there just is that occasional throttling. The swapping from PEG to IGFX seems to work until a Hard reboot, Soft reboot It doesn't seem to reset that BIOS trick. I can't overclock them at all or i get throttling though. BUT they are very fast and I haven't found game yet that "needs" that extra speed at 1080p anyway.

    Just my 2 cents. I hope this helps you decide what is best for your needs! And sorry to hear you are having trouble with your AW man ;(

  4. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I got everything working on windows 10 (should work for windows 8.1) by using a mix of the drivers from out M18X R2 driver page AND the drivers from the AW18 download section (Yes that is not a typo some of the AW18 drivers work great on the M18X R2) . I think I have all the drivers on a thumb drive if you want me to package them up and send to you on dropbox I could do that.

  5. This happened to me too, thought my board was toast, It turned out that my Ram Kingston HyperX 2133 DDR3L doesn't yet play well since the flash. Mr. Fox has suggested it might have to do with the new SPD tables on newer sticks of Corsair and Kingston Ram vs. the 2+ year old version (that seemingly works as PnP, and the newer stuck doesn't unless reflashed with Typhoon Burner)

    If this is the case & and you still have your factory nanya ram around, just put one stick of that in with your others and it should post. from there you can put in manual Ram timings. I read on another forum (http://tinyurl.com/jpwoakr) that M18x r2 doesn't seem to play well with the tCWL being over 9, at least that is something else to look into.

    Don't take this as the solution just yet. I'm still trying to get mine working..
