  1. Ah, the mysterious ways of the search function... By searching for "11E210DE" I've discovered

someone had already tried doing something similar:

    and bricked their laptop... :54_002:

So, now I am wondering if this is a lost cause...

If someone could chime in and either confirm or deny my conclusion, I would very much appreciate that.

  2. So, I've tried modding the NVIDIA driver. Edited the file called nvam.inf and changed these lines:

    [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.119D.1043% = Section271, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_119D1043

    [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.119D.1043% = Section271, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_119D1043

    [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.3]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.119D.1043% = Section271, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_119D1043

    [Strings]
    NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.119D.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M"

    to these:

    [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.11E2.10DE% = Section271, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_11E210DE

    [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.11E2.10DE% = Section271, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_11E210DE

    [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.3]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.11E2.10DE% = Section271, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_11E210DE

    [Strings]
    NVIDIA_DEV.11E2.11E2.10DE = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M"

The driver did recognize my GPU and proceeded with installation, but failed with:

    NVIDIA Installer failed

Not much more to that. :34_002:

  3. This is how this story goes:

My G750JW laptop has stopped working one day. :after_boom:

I've ordered a new motherboard from eBay. I put it in, the laptop turned on and everything seemed to work.

And so, I lived happily ever after.... Except... :67: not everything worked. One day I've tried to attach

a Thunderbolt device to the laptop and it wouldn't respond. I've opened the laptop and discovered that the

motherboard is missing the Thunderbolt chip. And of course, it was to late to return it. :waaaht:

I really needed that Thunderbolt to work, so I went back to eBay and ordered another motherboard

from a different seller. The listing said it was G750JW mother board, but what they've sent me was a G750JS

motherboard with G750JM BIOS loaded on it. Thunderbolt did work this time, but GPU didn't.

I was getting (Code 31). Tried re-installing NVIDIA drivers, but they said my GPU is not compatible:

    NVIDIA Installer cannot continue

This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.

     :27_003:

The same driver worked fine with the first motherboard. So, I've looked at the PCI IDs and it showed:

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_11E210DE

The SUBSYS seems suspicious, as it's repeat of the DEV and VEN IDs... And according to nvamn.inf

from the NVIDIA drivers GTX 765M is supposed to be:

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11E2&SUBSYS_119D1043

After failing to get the GPU to work, I've returned the motherboard and ordered another one from

Walmart. Third time is a charm, right? Right?... :01:

Not this time I guess, as they've again sent me G750JS motherboard with G750JM BIOS loaded on it.

So, here I am stuck with the same problem. I've tried to coerce the motherboard into loading

G750JW BIOS, but it refuses. Tried through EasyFLASH and AmiEfi shell.

I saw some posts of @Klem modding people's BIOSes. Is that the way to go for me? Could someone

please advise what I should try next?

  4. @Klem do you  still make BIOS mods? I have G750JW laptop, which for some reason has G750JM BIOS loaded into it. As a result the GPU (765m) is not recognized. I get Code 31 in the driver properties. I was able to update from v206 to v207 of the JM BIOS, but I can't figure out how to switch to G750JW BIOS.

I've tried loading the file via Ez Flash.

Tried renaming G750JWAS.207 to G750JMAS.207 - got "Model name doesn't match".

Tried using WinFlash with /force option - it said "Invalid file".

Tried with AfuEfix64.efi, but it refuses to flash due to mismatching file size...

Is there a mod that you can make that will allow me to switch to JW BIOS?

    Thank you
