E4310 - how to get 16GB ram?

Does anyone can tell me how to use 16GB in Dell E4310? I´ve bought a 8GB dimm and unfortunely the laptop doesnt start and can only read my two 4GB dimms... Anyone know how to use 16gb? Bios Update?
