  1. - CPU + heatsink + paste (depending where you buy it from you might get or don't get something)

    - Motherboard

    - RAM

    - GPU (or two :D )

    - Dedicated sound card if you want

    - Power Supply

    - Optical drive? (rofl...)

    - HD, SSD

    - Monitor

    - Keyboard

    - Mouse + Mousepad

    - Speakers

    - Headset?

Basically you get the CPU and RAM onto the mobo, then fixing a mobo and power supply into your case. Then you go with cards, GPU, etc. All of these items usually come with a manual (you only really need it for the mobo) that explains what cable does what and where does it go. They are built so you can only connect them where they belong (the shapes are different). :)

    EDIT:

P.S. Grats. Dunno where are my manners. :P

  2. Hm, I played Dota2 an Diablo3 beta and haven't had any problems. Not sure what the exact FPS was but it was above 30 (perfectly smooth). Dota2 was maxxed out with only single 5870M (because for some reason I got some artifacts with crossfire).

You can check both with HWInfo64.

  3. LOL! :D Yeah I mean M14x, M17x and M18x are good but I don't really see either as truly portable the way M11x is. I am not sure that this is the best decision by Dell. But that said, I don't see the point in having both 17" and 18" in their offer either. 12"/13", 15" and 17"/18" would make more sense imo.

Just looking at these photos then looking at my ex-M11xR3 photos, I just can't accept it. But maybe it's just too soon. :)

  4. Sounds like an issue with ULPS just check out some stuff on ULPS it may be what caused your prob back when Unreal and your prob now Adam... I had similar issues... when your issue was fixed upon re-install of drivers cleanly Unreal the registry entries for ULPS is reset.

In your case Adam you may need to disable ULPS so your cards can overclock... sometimes Afterburner and Trixx and many more can be used till you do that ... and why its an option in Trixx... but it can get buggy rather than cleanly re-installing to get the ulps issue fixed I restarted plenty in between and told trixx to start with windows and apply overclock at start up... plus toggled ULPS on and off eventually I got it working correctly... and when it wasn't it did same as yours Unreal Locked at 50-100mhz core lol

Just had the same problem again (GPU1 clock stuck on 500 MHz) and did what you wrote, worked wonderfully. Back to stock clocks! Thanks! :)

  5. Well my R2 is comparable to that "girl" you are almost 100% sure of but still need to sweeten up before you make any moves ;)

    ROFL !!! :21_002:

If you need a faster GPU, 7970M looks pretty insane to be honest. If it's going to be needed for Guild Wars 2 and I decide to play it, I might do some kind of upgrade 69xx/79xx. They may or may not be worth it depending what do you want to play. If not, I am sticking with 5870Ms for Diablo3 and League of Legends/DotA2. :) (Even though I think these games can be maxxed out on 1920x1200 even with a single 5870M).

  6. I haven't seen the inception, so I don't get the reference. :)

@mmskate13, I can take control of the dream once I am aware of it in most of the times (say 2 out of 3), in other cases as you said it all just happens so fast. One time I was going to fight a tiger (don't ask lol) and then the tiger turned into a beautiful woman ಠ_ಠ . I had lots of extremes, like either really good dreams or really bad. And sometimes (extremely rarely tho) they are so vivid, it takes me 10-15min after I wake up to figure out whether that really happened or not. :)

Also, one time when I was quite a bit younger I really wanted a satellite dish so we could watch lots of other channels (we could only get ~5-6 local at a time). So I had a dream about holding the dish in my grandparents' living room and as far as I can say it's exactly how it actually happened. It was probably just coincidence + there was nothing about it that was unexpected, but even with my scientific mind I found it very creepy. As far as I can say it was only once that something like that happened.

Oh and lso what's funny is that I mostly dream about people I don't recognize. I am assuming that perhaps the brain generates these images based on the experience; maybe someone's Facebook friend that I just quickly went through, I actually remembered subconsciously. On occasion some of my RL friends or family show up.

You guys must think I am totally crazy now... but I am actually not :D:P

  7. Funny you mentioned it. I just (tonight) had several lucid dreams within other dreams, some I figured they were dreams, for some other I did not. :D One of them had me as a protagonist in some kind of mix between GTA and Fallout themed world :D ... why throw money on real games :P. Its just that there is this lack of multiplayer and in addition I always remember very little afterward. I read about it quite a bit and I found the easiest way to check whether you are dreaming is to find some text around try to read it once then look away and then look back and see if there is the same text. It worked for me in pretty much 100% of the cases. The only thing is you have to remember to do it, so it may be helpful to practice during daytime.

It's quite fun actually once you figure out, since you can do whatever you want. For example, you can fly around, have sex with whomever you want, go wherever you please.... whats not to like about it. :P:D

My top achievement in lucid dreaming is I figured I was dreaming the night before one of my exams and managed to think about some problems I had issues with when I was awake. It helped and I eventually solved them after I got up. I managed to do that only once tho. I just wish I could it more often and make better use of my time when I am sleep. :)

Oh and I will definitely take a look at that movie!

  8. Got it back few hours ago, noticed right away the lighting issue I had was still there, than not even an hour of use it blue screens! -_- they replaced the MLB and Blue Tooth.

the exterior is fine though, I can't believe they sent me this piece of paper saying "The system was diagnosed and extensively tested by certified technicians to ensure the problem you experienced was corrected" because, clearly, both aren't fixed. If they would have diagnosed they would have saw the blue screens and saw that I cant change the stupid LED's. Now waiting for them to call back so I can re install windows -_- what a lovely day

Thats pretty much how every depot "repair" went with me too. -.- Except for the first one when they stole my laptop hard drive screws (wtf... luckily my friend had spare so he gave me).

  9. I am not going to be playing it. It got incredibly boring for me after only few hours of playing. I got to I think level 10 or 11 in beta and just purchased a mount. Keep in mind I leveled all the way with two of my friends, so I imagine I would have given up sooner if I was playing solo. :)

If you never played WoW, it might be neat. But then again, WoW might be better anyway (the leveling there is much more fun and there are end-game raids). In Tera you have pretty graphics and a combat system that uses targeting, but is imo a bit slow and slow to respond. This could probably be fixed by simply speeding up animations (by a factor of three at least).

  10. Or complain to Dell for weeks (or months... lol) and demand a replacement. :D

It's funny I read someone's R3 review (was it NBR?) and they complained (out of everything that they could've complained) about speakers. I honestly don't think I ever heard a laptop with better speakers. R1 speakers were really great but R3 are better; I compared them head to head when I had both. M17x-R2 laptop speakers are really bad in comparison.

I ordered the extra pair of R1 speakers some time ago to try to transplant one of them into my previous Thinkpad X200 (it had a mono sound rofl) :D but they only fit after some serious filing :P and the sound wasn't as good because I couldn't find a good spot for a single speaker. I managed to squeeze it and tape it into the empty WWAN slot....

  11. Let me know how you like it (or don't like it :( ) when it comes. I think it does take some time getting used to (I switched from 13" to 11" screen) but I still don't mind 11" screen, I just wish it was 16:10. I will repeat what I said on NBR two years ago, this thing NEEDS a dock station! It can work so nicely as a desktop replacement, especially the R3.

Even R1 is still able to run plenty of games, just not at the highest settings.

  12. I just don't feel like there are very many games with something original in it. I remember back in the days we had more genres, I loved space simulations (non existant today?0 Xwing vs tie fighter, Wing Commander, etc. there were so many good adventures (again nonexistant?), strategies (both RTS and turn based... today you have what... sc2?).

I might give Skyrim another shot, last time I played it a bit it seemed too much "consolish" and the combat system was so-so. But at least it seems like it has some depth.

  13. Hence why I said "good games". :P

I can't remember that any of these games was gameplay-wise better than Doom2 (in fact Doom2 was much better at a time since it was a relatively original). Unreal Engine looks good. I repeat ENGINE looks good. Even Unreal 3 ENGINE looks GREAT in e.g. Tera. But the game itself is pretty boring, which is the same I found for any of these other action games (Crysis... *yawn*). I liked Battliefied BC2 multiplayer but never got to play it a lot due to numerous bugs -- I spent more time (re)installing Punkbuster than playing the damn game. Even now I wanted to test it when I had M11xR3 but no luck.... after god knows how long since it came out it still requires some pro hacking skills to actually get into the game and not getting kicked out. And there's also the fact that its made by "evil" EA.
