  1. Been trying to solve this for several weeks now I added a new SSD and created RAID so I was forced to reinstall windows. I had Oculus RIFT working before with an older NVIDIA driver (Do not recall what version it was). I tried to install RIFT again, but each time I plug in the HDMI I get the blue screen of death. I am currently in SG mode as I now noticed that in PEG (Got 8 beeps - Another issue I caused by messing with VBios). The HDMI port comes off the IGFX card and shows my TV plugged in. I can switch to TV output at this point. When I am in full PEG mode, I no longer have HDMI detected. Only VGA shows when trying to force to External Display. What is the Ideal combination for VBIOS, Motherboard Bios and Nvidia Drivers to run the RIFT? anyone running it at this moment?? Noticed there is the original Unlocked A11 (shows all the fancy graphics on boot), modded one where the fancy graphics and Net boot is disabled, and I think I saw a 3rd version?? (Legacy, Legacy improved and Legacy 2.0? is anyone willing to share links to the files? I have downloaded a lot but I might as well delete them all and start from scratch trying new ones as its all a big mess.... PS also managed to do a 330W power supply hack from a generic adapter and some Adruino programming to fool the ID chip.
  2. Ended up being the card overheating as the fans were not coming on. Installed HWinfo32 and setup manual fan cooling and solved the problem. Laptop hasn't shut down since! but now off to a new venture, replaced with a 980m but cannot get it to work so trying to download Unlocked bios, but site wont allow me due to restrictions?? Think I need to post more to get the file :S
  3. I replaced my video card from 7970m to 8970 and found a weird problem. Tried to do a search on here and on Google but no concrete answers... Whenever I watch streaming videos (Netflix, streaming videos) after about 10 to 15 minutes the laptop just shuts off. I don't have any games installed at the moment so I cant test to see if it will do it in a game. I ended up going back to my old card, and 0 issues.... anyone have any ideas? tried couple times to install each time making sure I have the proper heat pad and compound contact. hoping someone might know if it can be a bios, on A12, not sure if it's unlocked. or failed video card or overheating issue.... thanks!
