  1. I can send it to you later, but why would you need the stock version? :P

Thanks PPL,s. Yeah i know Brother Fox has it but i have bothered him enough recently LOL Yeah svI7 would appreciate it. I just want it incase i have to send it back or have Dell look at here, i have a few things i want them to sort out and things i have found with this mess of a product! LOL

EDIT: Its all good found it. Thanks Guys! ;)

  2. WOW nice @Birdalicious Nobody ever does anything about things like this and that is why Big companies and corporations think that they can get away with anything these days. I am impressed with what you did and you are 100% in the right to do so after paying a premium amount for something that has not delivered on what it should and what is advertised.

I would do something similar but i am kinda semi happy with the machine right now as far as what i use it for and games etc.. Plus i got it at a good price But the truth is it still falls well below what it should be able to do and what is advertised to us enthusiasts which is the sad truth. Well done there bird and cred to you. :encouragement:

  3. Sweet thanks Brother Fox. Gonna update now!! Fans still NOT sorted, far out what is wrong them ppl..

Edit: Wow, CPU acts heaps better now as well. Turbo boost actually ramps up fully and it ramps up hard to where you lock / set it manually. Before it was kinda like it was running out of juice.. :S

Now all we have to do is get that stupid secure flash done away and get this mess of a mistake fan situation sorted.. in this case that is a lot to ask. lol

  4. Thanks for that Info as well Astelith You saved me $430 each card// :Banane44:

Yeah from the tests i have seen recently they are the same in performance clock for clock (when core clocks are same) And have also seen that the 780M has no problems reaching the same clock speeds if not more so Meh.. I thought that the 880M was something better and new at the start but now that i know its the same damn chip an pretty much the same card and obviously just a glorified top binned GPU anyhow. Sooooooo i guess there is absolutely NO reason to pay more then $400 more for it..

Yeah i didn't know what omega939 was on about there when he was comparing 680/780 SLI with single 880.. I then thought maybe he meant price wise but the SLI will still cost slightly more than the single 880. Hahaha Anyways, i ended up buying two 780M,s locally to run in SLI so no 880M,s like i thought i was going to run. I don't mind paying lots but to pay $430 more for the same thing with a dumb memory increase and it won't make an ounce difference now that im over hardcore benching which is why i didn't buy the new P570WM which is king in that department, my AW is much nicer and will destroy all the games im going to enjoy! :Banane37:

  5. Honestly if you even have 680m sli there is no compelling reason to upgrade unless you are a number chaser. Wait until high performance Maxwell hits the market.

There is good reason for it actually. I am selling my P570WM which cannot take any newer cards than 680M,s and i need new cards for my M18x as the GTX 675M,s are not doing the job for me sorry to say.. lol

  6. Mine is Dell, I'm curious to go deep and understand if it's only a rebrand, if is this the case Good for us with the 780m :)

Pretty sure it is. With the addition of the ridiculous memory increase.. lol BTW, don't worry about the Question i asked ppl, i found out you can use the Clevo card in the AW.. I may just buy the 780M,s and save myself about $400 each card.. :62:

    Cheers!

  7. Damn @Astelith That is impressive at those volts..

Yeah so 780M and 880M at the same clock speed produce the same score ?? Mmm, Kinda makes sense as its just a 780M with higher default clock. The 8gb memory is just stupid overkill IMO anyways. Probably not even worth paying that much extra over a 780M to get the 880M.. I was thinking about this today actually as i haven't purchased the 880M,s yet.. You have started me thinking again :nightmare:

Sorry to get off topic a little but would the Clevo 780M work in the Alienware? If yours is Blue PCB i think its Clevo yes??

  8. Thanks to both of you for the information. Extremely good feedback and food for thought on my part. It's easy to get "number struck" when you love benching, but there is a lot to sacrifice for 2 extra CPU cores coming from an M18xR2 with XM and 680M SLI or 780M SLI. I will now have to think a lot harder on this decision before I can reconcile whether or not pulling the trigger is a good idea.

Yeah both are good machines obviously and its each to there own and very much personal preference but in all honesty after having both of them here, i think it would be very hard for someone to get rid of a top spec AW out of the two machines when you own both, you would be mad to do it unless you keep the two of them. LOL There are so many more plus points for the AW and one reason for the Clevo which is Big bench numbers so that is what one should consider i guess. I Sold my AW back then not knowing what the Clevo would be like but if had them both at the time i would have never in a 1000 years sold my AW and now owning both machines i could happily sell off the Clevo with no regret.

BTW: I just checked the Mobo on my P570WM and its 2.1 :upset:

  9. Yeah i called Metabox a little while ago and asked them about this and with the CPU they said no problem at all and they even provide you with the new bios for it! As for the Newer GPU,s i think it will be problem as pretty sure mine is the original revision 2.1a or whatever as i bought it just after it was released. I will have to check that though to confirm although not sure where to look..

P570WM certainly is a powerhouse but not the best machine i have ever used. The sound quality is horrid compared to AW and of coarse it is super chunky and very bland basic plastic looking not to mention crazy heavy. With the CPU and regarding 6 core desktop chips in everyday conditions and situations such as gaming on a desk at room temperature the CPU gets extremely hot and your lucky if you can even run it at 4ghz which is only a tad over stock boost and then which you can match performance on an extreme mobile CPU OC,d. So for everyday normal conditions there is no advantage or benefit in having this Chip IMO. The only reason for it would be to stick it on top of an A/C unit and bench the hell out of it and get some big numbers really.

So for what i do i prefer the AW m18x hands down and wish i never sold my original one because i just bought one again. hahaaha

*Oh thanks Prema, i will go check!! :friendly_wink:

  10. This was the case before they patched the game. Now its pretty smooth and rarely crashes and if it does crash, it's usually the person's system at fault (e.g. unstable OC or bad driver install or AMD Radeon owner LOL).

Hahaha I see. Well i dunno, still crashes for heaps of people around the globe even now after the patch. oh well.

  11. Honestly it's AMD fault more than it is bf4. The game runs smoothly for me.

Sent from my Yellow Nokia 1520 (RM-937)

Care to explain that comment at all? I think it is very seriously due to BF4 as every person i have spoken to has had a crash of some sort on all platforms and there seems to be about 3 types of different crashes.. LOL Dunno what they were thinking but its pathetic!

  12. Yeah no problem, i can understand that. I appreciate the fact that you have posted such a detailed instruction set and information to do build it which is really awesome!

Yeah i don't really like the new AW 18 design and shape tbh, plus in light of all this information and what people have found with them, i really don't wanna go that route. As in many things in this world, when someone has a really great product they make it worse and stuff things up in the newer models, classic history repeating itself.

Anyways, so i have gone and purchased a fully loaded M18x R2 already for a really good price only thing is it has dual 675M,s in SLI currently which will be coming out soon and i will be selling them cheap if anyone is interested.. Dunno if im allowed to say that here but oh well.

So back on topic, going to install dual 780M,s as have seen to many bugs / issues with 880M,s so far and couldn't be bothered tbh. So i will be needing this awesome dual power brick Mod of yours for sure! :14_002:

  13. Naaa, i will get Mr. Fox,s dual power brick adapter for the M18x R2 so power won't be an issue. I have the M18x R2 already just need to get some new cards either the 780M,s or 880M,s..

Umm i actually have both laptops Q56_monster as i am blessed enough to be wealthy and have whatever i like which is why i have both. Umm, personal preference is the phrase, the M18x looks so much better plus i like the screen better on the AW and i totally hate the piss poor sound quality of the P570WM compared to the AW. I once had the AW m18x R2 but sold it to a mate before i could even unlock it and open its true potential..

More interested in gaming now days with a little bit of tweaking rather than hardcore benching and breaking records so that is another reason why i prefer the M18x as well as its just pure Sex!!!! LOL

  14. I for see the 880M having major issues with the current drivers once they crash one to many times...

And yes an inf edit is working as of today's test.

Thanks Johnksss, might just go the dual 780,s this time round. I hate things that just come out, to new means problems / bugs every time. ;)

Will have the same specs as you! lol May need some help with settings after if that's cool? :eagerness:

  15. Damn that is a real bummer about the AW 18. I have my Clevo but was going to buy the AW 18 more for just gaming and stuff but i also wanted to be able to have a serious play with it and seems like that margin is going to be very limited. @Mr. Fox do you think it is a circuit in the board responsible? Im guessing an unlocked bios chip as been installed and then dual power brick current draw test has still failed?? Hmm dunno what to do now, im waiting for the 880m,s first of all. My Clevo is getting outdated now so i wanna get something new and the Clevo can never compete with AW in terms of Looks and aesthetics and since im not into hardcore benching or records much anymore id rather not get the latest new P570WM, kinda wanna go back to AW. lol

** I might just get the older M18x at its highest spec and install the new latest graphics cards in it. What do you reckon?? How does the overclocked 3940mx compare to the new 4930mx at fairly stock speeds.. Thoughts?

Umm, Mr. Fox could you send me one of those units so i can use dual power bricks for the m18x ? I will pay you for your troubles!! lol :17_002:
