  1. I don't see any reason it wont work on that, ditch the dvd drive, add second ssd in there, and raid 0 away, but as with all raid 0, you loose one drive, you loose it all. SSD on its own is super fast, I don't see the benefit being worth the risk, 1 TB ssd are going for about 80 bux now, so capacity is killer with a single drive, keep the dvd in case you need it.
  2. I don't find it that loud, screen color not an issue plugged in to a good monitor, webcam? seriously? creeeeepy.
  3. sounds pretty interesting dark, how about a few pictures to see how you did it?
  4. this thread makes me laugh, flurry of activity and then dead for days on end............ chuggin along here on w 10 19037.1, running preview builds without problems. another day, another update,,,,, 19041.1
  5. mine never leaves its place on my desk, and it is wired to a nice logitech 5.1 setup.
  6. I guess you are right, I am happy with the performance of this little fkr, just beginning to wonder what would be the next lappy that replaces this one someday, how many cores will it have, how many gigs of ram, how many gigs of storage, or will the next one be an all on one die solution...........
  7. ok, why not? just hooked up the hdmi to displya port cable to the lil hp, other end is plugged into the LG 55 inch UHD monitor, looks damn crisp and clear at 4k resolution! no one else has done anything to their hp lately?
  8. updated to bios version 73 last night, all good so far, not sure what it changes or "fixes" but its all good to me.
  9. I can't help you, but somebody on here should be able to help once they understand what you are trying to do. I'm off to the pc store this morning, mounting bracket for cpu cooler cracked last night, no cooler, no good......... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep blue screen.
  10. not sure what more you would gain, but your scores will probably edge mine out, best ram, best ssd and then you will be at the peak of what could be,
  11. valera, what is used, not new? that drive I posted the deal on is a brand new unit.
  12. well, good deal on a 1 TB SSD if you haven't gone ssd yet, do IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-SSD-PLUS-Internal-SDSSDA-1T00-G26/dp/B07D998212/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=A5KE87R888CRJ9EEBCR5 .
  13. my 28 inch samsung is plugged in via display port and auto sets to the 2560 1440
  14. looks good, limited to those display settings by the monitor? I am at 2560 x 1440 on mine as recommended in display settings.
  15. looks like a lot of work well done, what else did you do to the lil laptop to kick it into high performance territory? processor upgrade? ram? solid state drive??? can you get a bezel on it and actually close it?
  16. good grief, the new model is pricey...... https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2019/02/hp-elitebook-x360-1040-g5-review-a-little-bit-bigger-a-little-bit-better/
  17. anyone still spinning a dsic has no escuse..... https://www.1sale.com/products/sandisk-ssd-plus-480gb-internal-ssd-sata-iii-6-gb-s-2-5-7mm-sdssda-480g-g26/ best upgrade ever.
  18. if I do mne I may use a drill bit, and a vacuum to catch he metal shavings, drill down the center of that standoff and call it a day.
  19. nice job, must have been a bit tricky using a file to cut that and not damage anything else. well done. How does the wifi work with the card? does it seem a bit faster?
  20. yawn, just updated to version 1903 through insiders program, seems good so far. doesn't anybody still care about the might 2570p?
  21. get it up and running, and run the crucial website upgrade checker. it will tell you what you can run. it should say if you can run that with one 16 gig stick, but I would figure out the true problems first before dumping money at it and going to single channel mode.
  22. not bad at all, nice seeing another user with a full boat of ram and a fast ssd . come on juandante, step up and double up your ram!
  23. As I said, it does not have anything to do with power saving settings, it is an error that happens after the laptop restarts, it just did it again, 2 minutes and wham, it went to sleep. It hadn't happened since I woke it via laptop power button untill just now and the comp had restarted after another insider build release. bothersome, but at least I know the "fix"
