I have an Alienware M18xr2 with A11 unlocked Bios. My current drivers are 399.24 that will install Nvidia said the new driver is 537.13 but fail to install.

I have the M18R2A03WIN bios for the blind flash

I also still have m18xr2-SwicksModv2 for the upgrade

I have not tried to downgrade yet the 980m is in right now I do have a 280m that I can put in is place.

I have a M18X R2 running windows 7 with a11 unlocked bios with 980m. I have been running without an issue for over a year. I just installed EVGA precision Xoc to check fan speeds and temps and it was running fine until I restarted. Now I get 8 beeps at start up and can not get into bios. I found out that EVGA precision will affect a number of Alienware laptops, m17x r3, r4 m18x r1, r2, 17 r1, 18. I have read that it affects the bios, vbios, and display. I have removed the ssd and removed the installation for EVGA. I am in need of help to fix my new paperweight.

I did unlocked bios and have the 980m with modified drivers for the 980m works great

I had 2 260 m Nvidia graphics cards go bad so I upgraded to 2 285 m Nvidia graphics card now I cannot get it to do SLI. I have changed out the cable to the one that came with the cards instead of the one that I was using with the 260. Any help will be appreciated

Got an AW M18x R1 with 580M SLI, 330W PSU, 100W heatsink and A05 svl7 unlocked BIOS.

Is it possible to upgrade the GPUs to a single 980M with Optimus?

 

Got a very good deal on 980M, don't know if it will work.

 

P.S. Searched lots of sites including this, but didn't find the exact answer.

I don't think you need the modified drivers for Windows 10 that's how my laptop originally was sent I got it used but I needed Windows 7 for my 3D printing scanning and art programs

So I may be looking to upgrade my M18X R2 which currently has a 680M to either an 880M or 980M.  Either way I am looking at what is need as far as the hardware.  I have seen that some are sold with just the card itself while others are sold with the brackets, foam pads and screws.  If I am upgrading from the 680M do I need to find one that includes the bracket and pads or will I be able to reuse the ones from my 680M?  Also is the SLI Cable usable from the 680M's to say the 880 and 980?

Already have the a 11 unlocked bios installed that way I could get my M 980 running

when I go to alienware drivers and downloads to do a diagnostic on my system I get this error

I just updated my BIOS to the a11 unlocked so I could run Windows 7 Ultimate with Nvidia GTX980m. The issue I am now having is Alienware Command Center does not recognize the computer and if I try to update the drivers from Dell or Nvidia they do not see the computer.

Clevo and I got the modified NVidia drivers to get it to work.

I just received a m18xr2 with a gtx 980m and windows 10 pro. I just downloaded the a11 unlocked bios re flashed the bios. Reinstalled the 980 card. I have windows 7 ultimate running but I cant get the video drivers to install. is there a special file I need to make it work. the bios is not recognizing the NVidia card it said not detected. any help would be appreciated.
