  1. finally some action in the M15x thread. YEAH!!!!

i recommend plugging the port hole in the bottom casing like the ear phone plugs. also cover up the screw holes where the battery is too.

really miss my M15x that thing was a head turner, heheheh

  2. i didn't have alot of time to test it, since i don't have an M15x. but i check ed the fans and they were running, i manage to do a vantage runand max temps were 83. still could be power issues with the xm chips. just wished i had more time to test.

  3. been using the cooler master sf-19 at work. i would highly recommend this one, the fans are nice and strong. it has 4 addition usb ports, two of them are usb 3.0 which is nice. using it more as a dock then a cooler. it has some lighting effect that is real nice that goes along with alienware laptop very well. at home i just use a logitech lapdesk n500, no fans but the padding makes it very nice to use on your lap, and gaves a nice angle for typing on your desk.

  4. I think that is possible (ie add voltage options for non xm cpus) but I also think one of the best we could/should do (in addition) would be to disable the power supply check in the bios.

This way we could use a higher power PS (300W or more) so we could run full tilt without the power supply tripping.

There is not much more power we could run through the system when running a 940xm, 2x5870etc.......but we cold increase stability.

Its like when I had my Inspiron E1705 and was able to use a XPS M1710 power supply.

That thing would OC like crazy and be super stable.

    D.

i'm not sure if disabling the psu warning will let you use more power, the limiting factor is still the bios. i used a 240watt psu on my M15x, it didn't really help anything other then the psu staying cooler over the stock 150watt. on both psu my maximum power draw was about the same 185watts under full load with extreme oc.
