  1. News flash: I am told by DNA AMD developers that their divers will not unify iGPU and eGPU. Now what should I do? EDIT: I was thinking, what if I just copy all content from ATI iGPU INF to HD6790 INF? maybe this will work.
  2. Benchmarks are done for Thinkpad Edge 14+ HD6790 and here they are: 3DMark 06 (12061): 3DMark Vantage (9278): 3DMark 11 (2402): RE5 Benchmark Tool DX9 (80.6): DMC Benchmark Tool DX10 (90.3): Review: Not a bad score, but this score is lower than Nvidia GTX460 SE with Optimus Setup. Maybe if I can make this card run on 2X Tweak, the score may be better? Anyways, look at them, and tell me what do you think? Kinda miss optimus setup
  3. Would somebody please read my post? EDIT: Nevermind, I ended up using my Nvidia GTX 460 SE on Dell Laptop, and AMD Radeon HD 6790 on my Lenovo Thikpad Edge 14. I'll post new benckmarks from each soon. EDIT #2: By the way, will someone please give me an easy instructions of how to unify amd eGPU and ati iGPU i.e. moding?
  4. Alright, to help me in a better way, let me tell you the whole story: After I have bought the graphics card and installed its driver, I have rebooted my laptop as a request from amd catalyst. Rebooted and after passing the BIOS, I have got two error codes: 1- Code 43 for ATI Radeon Xpress Series 2- Code 31 for AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series Can you help me out now that I have detailed out my story? I think that the problem is from iGPU itself.
  5. Would you be so kind to respond to my post, please?
  6. And how do I "hack" INF files of my AtiAMD driver? Is it like Nvidia INF modding? If I want to make HD6790 to work on Edge14, should I just install desktop driver of it? or is there other procedures that I should take?
  7. I have got it worked, finally!! But at cost. I have a gtx 460 se that I am using it on my thinkpad edge, so I switch places with amd hd6790. So my new question is: Will amd radeon hd 6790 work on my thinkpad edge 14?
  8. My dell laptop doesn't have dedicated gpu, instead it has an integrated one, Which is ati xpress 1100. So I don't have to disable it, right?
  9. My card is listed as amd radeon hd 6700 series, should I go for it?
  10. Nice one, Tech Inferno Fan. I think I'll stick to windows 7 until my problem is solved.
  11. If only I can get this thing to work, I'll happily to give you some benchmarks about my second eGPU setup.
  12. Actually, it's HD6790, not HD5770. It appears that the H5770 is no longer being sold in retailers in my country, so I got HD6790, and from what I saw on youtube, it's an impressive graphics card. And can you show me how to do this, please? I'm not computer savvy. Is it similar to Nvidia driver modding method?
  13. Well, looks like I'm stuck unitil either DNA open their website or they upload their drivers to online-source.net. When I first installed the driver for my eGPU, there was no error. But there was no signal on external monitor. Is there something I can try to make it work while DNA upload the drivers? or should I wait?
  14. Looks like that I have encountered a code 31 error for HD 6790. How can I solved it, please? Edit: Here's the error that my dell laptop recieved: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
  15. Hey nando, I have sent you a PM, care to reply it?
  16. Alright, I have bought a gpu, which is xfx radeon hd 6790. I have installed the desktop driver version, as I don't know how to force install the mobile one. The only issue is I can't make it work on external monitior. Care to help me, please?
  17. Hey nando, Did you check my recent PM? Also, is there any alternative for HD 5770? Because I believe that I won't be able to find one in order to create another eGPU. Please respond ASAP because I'm buying a GPU tomorrow.
  18. If you have switchable integrated graphics card, try to disable it from diy eGPU setup.
  19. I don't know why, but dna-driver website is not working for me. Why? I have heard that with method, you can run eGPU with Internal Monitor, is that true? Anyway, thanks for your support. It was their loss that they banned you from NBR. You are a valuable person.
  20. What I meant in my question was, Should I download notebook, or the desktop graphics card driver?
  21. Hey guys, finally to see some familiar people here: I have already asked my questions to Tech Inferno Fan, and now it's your turn to answer it: I have another laptop, which is Dell inspiron 1501, and I have recently upgraded its amd processor from sempron +3000 1.8GHz to turion 64 x2 tl-68 2.4 GHz, which is significantly good. After the upgrade, its specs have become: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate RAM: 2.5 GB Processor: AMD turion 64 X2 TL-68 2.4GHz iGPU: ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, which is the weakest iGPU I have ever seen in my life. And my eGPU: PE4H-EC2C 54mm PSU:Silverstone ST-ST50F-ES 500W with +12V/34V rail output eGPU: AMD Radeon HD 7750 I have many questions: 1- It's my first time doing it on AMD processor and ATI iGPU, Will it work without disabling iGPU? 2-I have LG Flatron M1717S monitor, which has a VGA output. The screen is pretty good, and I don't want to spend money for another monitor. Unfortunately, the graphics card only supports DVI, HDMI, and Display port. Will DVI-to-VGA adapter work for my eGPU setup? 3- What type of driver shall I install for eGPU in order to make it work?
