unfortunately, I can't make Gen2 link work, after such a long 2 weeks. Thus, I confirm that EVGA GTX 660 won't run at x1.2Opt. I'll try to buy the same card, but from another vendor.

No matter what I do, I can't achieve Gen2 speed link with my GTX 660 on the external display. Maybe a driver problem?

I was thinking. I wasn't able to achieve Gen2 speed with my eGPU, maybe because of the latest graphics driver? But it worked with GTX550 Ti, so the problem is from bandwidth? What do you think?

Has anyone tried the new GTX 970 or 980 on eGPU?

GTX660 is the perfect eGPU to start with. As of the components, you can either go with PE4L 2.1b, or EXP GDC V6.0.

I do have a spare PE4H. But I don't know how to mod it. If I have a spare d220p, I'll sell it at eBay.

The thing is I told Cloud to remove the AC adapter from the EXP GDC package (I should have asked before rushing to buy). A hard lesson has been learned.
