  1. I've searched the net for months on this one off and on, and it still evades me!!

Fn+F7 option comes up when I unplug the PSU as expected, says a reboot is required, the beast reboots, but when it comes back to Windows, it's still running the 560m and nothing else shows.

In the BIOS it will only ever show the 560m, now I read that the BIOS will ignore the Sandy Bridge GFX if a discrete card is installed, but how on earth do you make it switch??

I know the CPU has GFX on because when I made an ar$e of the BIOS a few weeks ago and had to do a blind reload with the 560m removed, the BIOS happily picked up the Sandy Bridge GFX, I want to be able to switch when I'm just sat downstairs with no plan to game, and lets be honest now it's just a case of I want to make it work!

Any ideas, it's got me beat at the minute.....

  2. Don't want to get my R1 go just yet and to be honest it still runs everything great, but you don't buy an Alienware and leave it alone lol

I've already got one of the HD's swapped out for a SSD for the OS and a few games I use a lot.

Also got 16Gb of Memory in.

it's currently running a single 560m, so wondering how much better it would be having another SLI'd, plus the processor is an i7 2670QM, no slow coach but I've heard that swapping it out for an XM will make a difference, but what's the fastest i7 these R1's can take?
