I am using a 970. Just an FYI... they do not "officially" publicly support many cards.... but they quietly do produce drivers for them.

They have always said that, and then the drivers are released. They don't officially support it... so they won't officially give an affirmative response. When Sierra came out it was a day or so... the last patch was a day or 2 also.
Wait a couple days and it will likely be released. If they were going to stop doing it... they probably would have stopped it for Sierra at all... not just stopping all of the sudden on a random small patch release to the OS.

the problem is that I need a FEMALE mini display port to join with the male mini display port that exit from the cinema display..
This is the adapter you need: http://a.co/1HGrKLBYou don't need to go from HDMI to MDP... you just need to go from Display Port to MDP Female. That adapter should do the trick. Your video card as a Regular Display Port plug right next to the HDMI.

Wonder if anybody is talking about if this will work on the new MacBooks? Apple makes a TB2 to TB3 adapter.

It is out. I automatically got notified by the Nvidia web driver that there was a new one. My MBP auto updated the macOS so I ran the script and rebooted and all is well.
Great thanks! I updated this morning and I am using GTX970 on MacOS 10.12.1

Does anybody know how to check if NVIDIA has released drivers for the new build? I don't really want to do the update until I know the new driver is out... I will just wait until it is.

I am running a GTX970 using Sierra right now. Have been since about 24 hours after Sierra was released.

I have been using this script with Sierra just fine. The script works with Sierra currently... it is a matter of the manufacturer of your Video Card creates drivers for Sierra or not.
Since Apple released their update today.... it will depend on if the Video Card manufacturer releases an driver update for the new MacOS build #. Has nothing to do with this script.

How is it possible to make more damage to the community than stopping the script for use and developing?!? We have already reached the maximum of damage. More is not possible. So we have nothing to loose. ;-)
We do though. He stopped this project, to work on a new BETTER one that does the same thing more effectively. He could decide to stop that project too, or not publish it because people like you are being annoying and are arguing with him about his decision.
Do you really think you are going to convince him to change his mind the way you are talking to him? You are being rude, condescending, and argumentative. That is not a way to persuade someone. Just stop.

@goalque I can understand Your viewpoint in general. But what I do not understand is Your personal war with Bizon.
If You are not able to stop them to provide Your script without the remark, that the script is Your script, than You are not able to enforce Your new license too.
If You stop developing the script, You will not harm Bizon. They are ignoring it. You will only harm all other honest users.
- You don’t like it, that Bizon takes Your word: the script is free for all.
- You don’t like the business model of Bizon, buying cheap, selling with a big profit. But Apple is okay?!? They are doing the same.
- For 99.99 percent of Your honest users You are a hero, because You made this script for free. But these users are running in problems now, because You have a personal war with Bizon. And Bizon is ignoring it. They will continue to provide Your script, and they are adapting it to Sierra. Only Your other users get a damage.
You are punishing all users except Bizon – for a fault of Bizon.
Please stop, he has explained himself. It is his right to make this choice and you are not making the situation any better by pushing the issue.

Yes, of course. But I want to understand him. So I’m asking. ;-)
He has explained himself already in this thread. I would kindly ask that you drop the issue. The rest of us would like him to continue to work on his better project and I think being disrespectful to him or continuing to push him... will lead to him abandoning eGPU projects completely.

It is required for an average user, which normally can not use terminals. And I am not able to install it manually.
Understood, I require it as well.
1 hour ago, Uhlhorn said:They provide the script with their hardware as a service to their customer. They could provide a link too. The effect would be the same.
Not exactly. What they are doing is buying hardware that costs roughly $400.... and then advertising this as a complete solution with software included for about $1000. So they make $600+ profit for doing mostly nothing except giving the equipment and software together. They also include this script as "software" of their own and do not really tell their customers that the software is freeware they are taking from someone else.
1 hour ago, Uhlhorn said:@goalque was not taking money for his script and he will not take money in future. He had no economic harm. So, where is the problem?!? I do not understand it.
Economics is beside the point. The creator of this does not want his software being used to rip of other people. It was never about him making, or losing, money. It is about someone else taking his creation and using it to make an excessive profit on someone else.
1 hour ago, Uhlhorn said:I do not understand it.
It really doesn't matter if you understand it, or agree with it. It is his decision. It was discussed at length in this thread... as well as others. He has decided what he wants to do, it is up to him if he wants to change his mind. Anybody who breaks the rules he has set forth are violating the license agreement for use of his software. This is his right as the creator of this script to make that decision.
I would strongly suggest dropping this and let it be. He is working on a project that is better... and I do not think arguing with him about a project he has decided to discontinue... will make him want to continue his new effort... or decide to publish it.

But to install a driver update. So, without script the work with the eGPU will end in near future.
No it is not required at all. All this script does.. is "Automate" the process. It makes it easier, but is not required.
4 minutes ago, Uhlhorn said:I would pay for this script or a software like this. This is no question.
I am sure you, and many other people would. However the creator is not making it for sale.. which is his choice.
5 minutes ago, Uhlhorn said:Yes, the script was free to use for everyone! There was no exception defined. What is the problem now with commercial sellers? And why was it no problem before? I do not understand it.
The script still is free for everyone to use. It just cannot be bundled in some type of commercial process, or modified. It wasn't a problem when he started this project because it was more of a friendly project and nobody was stealing it to make money... but then someone ruined it and stole this to "sell" their hardware. So he has changed the terms of use with the .99 version to limit its use.
It is his decision to do so, and unless he changes his mind.. there is nothing to be done about it. His work, his rules.

Okay, but this does not help. I’m not able to modify the script.
Do I have to throw away my eGPU now? How can I get my eGPU to work again?
The Script still works as of right now. I have used it to get my eGPU working on MacOS Sierra. However, it may not work for you if the Manufacturer of your Video Card has not released updated Drivers for your Card.
eGPU's do not require this script to work. This script just made it easier to do... and @goalque was kind enough to make it free of charge. However, he is no longer working on it to work on a better project. If for some reason a change to MacOS breaks this.. then we are on our own.. unless he has released his new program by then.
The license is restricted to prevent his work from being stolen, modified, and published because some commercial sellers of eGPUs were taking this script and including it with their hardware.
So if someone else were to take his script... and "fix" it.. and then publish it.. the commercial sellers could take the modified script and include it again as if it was their own work. Which is stealing.

Can anyone continue adapting the script to new versions of macOS until the EFI version is ready?
According to a previous post from @goalque no it cannot, except individuals modifying the script for themselves locally and NOT publishing any changes. The license prohibits it.

I'm looking for a quick summary, sorry.
What does this being discontinued mean? Should I expect it not to work? Especially, with upgrading to Sierra, with a GTX970 in a Thunder2, can I upgrade?
The developer of this project, @goalque , has decided to no longer work on this project in favor of his new project that works at an EFI level (not yet released from what I can tell).
That being said, I have run this script on Sierra with a GTX970 and it is working for me. At this stage it is more a matter of if the Manufacturer of the GPU has released drivers for the MacOS version that you are running. The situation could change if Apple changes something in the OS or something changes on the NVIDIA or AMD side for location of Drivers.

I tried yesterday and no driver was found... I tried this morning and now it finds drivers. So NVIDIA must have released the drivers in the past 24 hours. Everything is working fine for me!

It’s up to Nvidia. Sierra GM says:
Searching for matching driver... No web driver yet available for build [16A319].
v0.9.9 remains the last one, let’s hope for an extended life cycle. If it doesn’t work, I don’t have time to provide support. Unfortunately. It has been a great adventure with you all!
I am not in a hurry with the EFI app.
Can you tell me how you searched for it? I would like to be able to check before I upgrade to Sierra.

So when Sierra Launches next week, basically this script isn't going to function make eGPU's work any longer for users running Sierra? Will your new EFI program work for Sierra soon?
Basically... I was capable of putting the "Hardware" together myself... but software isn't my "Cup of Tea"... so the way this worked for me was using your script. I am wondering what my options are come next week.
I really appreciate your time and effort. So I am not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand what I should and should not do when Sierra Launches.

So I am all working now. Switching to the DP to DP cable took care of my 30hz issue.
Now I made the mistake of installing the security patch that Apple Released today. Is this going to affect my eGPU? if I just run the script again will it work? I don't know what I was thinking....
-
@goalque Thank you so much for your efforts on this! I got my device today and was up and running in 5 mins after plugging it in thanks to your script.
I have a 2015 MBP 11,5 with 16GB RAM, 2.8ghz i7 and the AMD R9M370X dGPU.
I am running a GTX970 in an Aikito Box. Driving a LG 34UM95 34″ UltraWide Screen. Right now for some reason it is only getting to 30hz instead of 60hz. I think this is because of my Redmere HDMI Cable. So I am waiting for a DP to DP cable coming tomorrow to test that out.
I just wanted to say thank you for your work on this, and if you are ever looking for donations, I am willing!
One question: I read all 31 pages of this... and I saw you are working on a new project. Is THIS project going to continue and be developed for Sierra? I am kinda confused on that front.

I have the Last Top Model MBP from before the new ones. 15" 2.8Ghz i7 with 16 GB of RAM and AMD M370X and Intel Iris Pro.
GTX970 in an Akito 2 box.
I am not doing anything that is using Cuda cores... mostly just playing WoW with Graphics settings high. It has totally improved my performance though. My fans never spin up anymore....
