    @Airp

     Anyways, even if I would make it work after hours and hours of struggle (which may not be worth it), I am not very positive that it would be a stable setup. Hence, I have returned my Akitio box and have kept the PSU and GPU. I have decided to just make my own separate PC build with 4K display. I have ordered my parts which will come tomorrow!

    Do you mind sharing what other parts you ordered? I have most of the parts to setup a eGPU with my macbook pro but i'm still waiting for my graphics card to arrive to see if I can actually get it working! Worse come worse I will also build a seperate PC.

  2. Hi. Could you please run an Octane Render Benchmark test? : https://render.otoy.com/octanebench/

    I am trying to decide between the GTX 1060 6GB and a GTX 970 4TB.

    If the render times are not too different I would opt for the 6GB as it would allow for larger scenes to be loaded.

    Would really help me make a choice!

    Thanks

  3. Looks great! I hope your able to write up a more detailed description of how you did it soon.

    I also have a mac-mini and perhaps foolishly ordered the Akito Thunder 2 from France several days ago after having spent a day reading through the forums and thinking it wouldn't be too complex a task. But upon further research today I reaslise that setting up and powering the device with a graphics card is probably more complicated than I thought and perhaps beyond my abilities without clear instructions. The descriptions I have read in the forums already about power supply have me quite flummoxed!
