  1. I've been looking into this for a while, right now I've reached a dead end because I can't open my original ME FW in FITC to see the oem uuid to be able to flash an unlocked one.

It has an .424 file extension but I can't even open it when changing extensions to .bin .rom or whatever.

I've been able to make a backup of my current ec fw in dos but this file is also encrypted of some sort.

When I change it to .bin and open it from FITC then it reports "unrecognized bin format".

If I can edit the file in some way I would in theory be able to access the mbex.

  2. Hi Xonar.

Please tell me, it would be possible after flashing a modified bios to MSI GT683DX manually change the frequency of the processor and memory?

you can not oc the memory. You can't oc the cpu unless you have a XM version.

  3. post-6549-14494993918157_thumb.jpg:D I've unlocked a lot of different features on my gt683dx that I couldn't see with the gt680/gt683 bios, I've been up for 34 hours looking for a way to access the mebx menu and now I'm trying to find a string in the bios where I can enable or find the key combo to enter the mebx which is integrated in the chipset, if this is possible I should be able to edit the me firmware too see if there's anything of interest in there.

What I've learned is that dell uses ctrl+p, and others use ctrl+alt+f1 in post to access the mebx and the default password should be admin to gain entry to the management engine interface.

Most other oem uses there own key combination

I don't know if this is possible but I sure hope i might find a way around this.

  4. It's really easy to do yourself.

Here's a list of the quad core i7s for laptops:

    Stock Turbo Watt

    Core i7-2960XM 2.7 Ghz 3.7 Ghz 55

    Core i7-2920XM 2.5 Ghz 3.5 Ghz 55

    Core i7-2820QM 2.3 Ghz 3.4 Ghz 45

    Core i7-2720QM 2.2 Ghz 3.3 Ghz 45

    Core i7-2635QM 2.0 Ghz 2.9 Ghz 45

    Core i7-2630QM 2.0 Ghz 2.9 Ghz 45

You can find the one you want on ebay, there's both brand new and used.

  5. I feel like my computer is screwed up or something. When I first got it, it ran great. Now I get some pretty poor graphics performance. Battlefield and even MINECRAFT run like junk. MINECRAFT!!! I tried using vsync and EVGA precision to lock the FPS at 60 but it keeps dropping down to 30. GT780R-012US.

How high does the temps get while under load? If they're too high the gpu will throttle.

I have a stuck pixel on my GT60. It stays lit and wont go away on its own.... If i gently put some pressure on it it will dissappear until the next time I reboot... Is there any way to fix this without sending it in or taking it apart??

Do you have any dead or defect pixel guarantee?

  6. No that wasn't the issue I'm not using raid I set it to ahci before booting into windows. I encountered the weird problem when I accessed the bios even without changing anything.

And then when I booted up i got bootmgr is missing so I had to go into bios and reset defaults to be able to boot.

So whenever I went in to bios I had to reset defaults >> set ahci>>and reboot to be able to boot.

A guess is that I inactivated pxe and that messed up the boot order or sumtn.

This happened every time and like a said, it is weird :P

  7. Best performance - new SSD!!!

But I suggest that it will not work in sata3 mode,

it seems there no notebooks with sata3 support :( now

Any overcklocking an setting tunings are nothing compared to SSD

But an ssd doesn't increase the overall 3D performance in games nor the processor speed, sure it is awesome at fast loading screens and installation of games and applications.

  8. Does anybody know if GT780DX will support more than 8Gb of Ram?

I have read that only two of four slots will work with i5 CPU,

    so 2slots*4GB=max?

I also wanted to upgrade RAM, but it seems there is no chance to do it

Only 2 slots work with i5, it's 1333mhz but you can put two 8gb RAMs in those two.

If you upgrade to a i7 you can use all 4 slots up to 32gb 1600mhz,

  9. I'm on a gtx 570m 1,5gb and before I upgrade to a kepler card I was wondering the safest and most stable clocks for mine.

I've already modified the BIOS using Nibitor and flashed, my current settings are v0.9 core 800 and memory is set to deffault 1500. And temps are 36C idle and max load is 81isch.

So how much can I push this card?

  10. I don't know if this is the way you did it but this is the way I do it

Insert the flash-drive and open command prompt as admin

    write:

    diskpart

select disk 1 If disk 1 is your usb drive, type the correct number otherwise

    clean

    create partition primary

    select partition 1

    active

    format fs=fat32 quick

    assign

    exit

Now you'll need a windows installation iso or a dvd to mount or insert.

Open elevated command prompt again and write the assigned letter to your dvd bay like e: for example, then write: cd boot then bootsect /nt60 h: If h: is the assigned letter of your usb drive.
