Nice with another Swedish guy here at the forum, hur gick det med datorn kvadde?
-
The 3720qm and above has overclockable turbo and the XM's have unlocked multiplier.
-
No you can't I'm afraid. The 37xxqm and up only.
-
Didn't think The gt683 supported 680m? Something I've missed?
-
Congrats on your work!Q: For a MS-GT60(15.6''):.30MMSI GT60 Unlocked.zipDoes the unblocked BIOS let you disable the Integrated or the Discrete Graphics card?THanx for answering
You can disable it yes.

If it has something to do with cooling you will see high temps.
If you don't it could be a driver problem.
-
Hey @Xonar have you done a blind flash on the gt683dx? I'm trying to get my new mobo working it's version 1.0 and my original one was version 1.2.
Thanks dude!
-
Only 2 heatpipes for all the cooling? It must run pretty hot then?
-
No beeps at all =/ also tried an external monitor, both hdmi and monitor cable. My guess is the mobo is DOA.
Edit: I've taken it apart once more and cleaned all connections and reassembled it but no success. When I press combos like fn+f3 the touch pad lights up like it's supposed to. I'm trying to blind flash but the usb never lights up.

Update: Ordered a new motherboard and recieved it today, installed everything very carefull but when booting I get no display..
Pulled out the gpu and cpu and memory chips, harddrives etc, and reinstalled cpu and gpu and tried to boot without RAM, then one RAM stick and then both
but still no luck.
Could the BIOS be the problem? Should I try to blind-flash to the latest version?
This truly sucks, I payed 300 dollars for the new mobo

Make sure the thermal pads are all in place, if one is a bit off the heatsink and gpu might not make sufficient contact.
-
Make sure to apply AS5 correct, spread it very thin with a razor or creditcard and screw it back on tight, screw it off again and see how it spreads and when satisfied clean, and redo.
-
No way to open? :S Just don't try to power it on it may only cause more damage. If you get the part and bring your stripped down mobo to a repair shop or someone with the expertise it wont cost you too much. Good luck!

It's a Mosfet, the brand is alpha and omega and the model is: 4932
If no luck finding any feel free to PM me.

It's a shame really, a scam to lure the consumers to purchase the same stuff wrapped up in a new shiny package. A waste of resources.

I've got the same motherboard lying around, if you shine a flashlight from the side onto that chip there will be a brand and nr on it. When replacing components on it make sure not to heat for to long or the epoxy holding down the pads will loosen and you'll end up with lifted pads.
Maybe I can desolder it from mine and send it to you for free if you pay the postage.

In avance menu there should be an option named Video configuration where you can disable IGPU. Change primary display from SG to PEG, do not choose PCI though!

Hi there! A powerfull rig that is somewhat more portable is this one from msi for example MSI GE60 0ND-257US - XOTIC PC - MSI 15.6" Custom Gaming Notebook
or this sager (clevo) which I find has a awesome looking design too Sager NP6370 / Clevo W370ET - XOTIC PC - Sager 17.3" Custom Gaming Laptop
-
I would'nt say a repaste will do wonders because it's a fairly new laptop and thermal paste can only do so much.
-
yeah I would go with the 6990m, the 660m wont be a big upgrade at all.

Flashing from within windows isn't that bad actually, but it depends on the flash tool. In this case it's much more simple - the flash tool just doesn't support Windows, it's a DOS application, as I already stated above. And it won't work on FreeDOS either.
my bad sorry
-
Like svl7 said, and it's never a good idea to run a bios update thru windows because there's so much that could go wrong. Format a usb drive with fat32 and put like freeDOS on it.

A bad bad place where computer enthusiasm goes to die :-)
/joke
It's a rival notebook forum (notebookreview.com)
Awesome!

To disable it I think you´ll need unlocked BIOS.
