  1. Thank you for your work !

    It's a great mod !

Now, we can OC your 780M GTX ;) What software do you use to modified the vbios ? I try Nibitor, but it doen't work...

It's not like he's just loading up the rom in a software and modifying it by clicking "shader" "memory" "voltage".. It's much more complicated than that, you'll need programming skills.

Nibitor doesn't work with the new kepler cards, to my knowledge it only works with fermi right now.

  2. The 3610qm is not overclockable, even if the BIOS allows it it will never happen. The 37xxqm and up has overclockable turbo, other than that you'll need an XM version in order to increase the multiplier.

  3. I really hope waiting for the curing time will actually help with the temps, as my idle temps are alright, 40c gpu and 45-50c cpu and my gpu temps on load are alright ~75 but my cpu temps on load can get to 98c... don't know if it's only a temp spike and goes back down, but this is what i got with hwinfo, while playing farcry 3.

How much thermal paste did you use? It's sufficient with a small rice grain sized blob.

  4. your fan work great or when you game touch turbo fan (same at 7970m) ?

where you buy heatsink and 770m gtx?

As it's a gt683 it has the turbo fan touch button which I use, I also have fan control tools by Pherein v1.0.4 which I used for my gtx 570m to increase the fan speed even more but don't need it for the 770m as it doesn't run hotter than 70C load for me.

I didn't need a new heatsink as I already had 570m, I bought the card from ebay for 429 bucks which is around 300 euros.

  5. I have a P370em with two 670mx. I am getting 60 degrees primary card and 71 degree slave on furmark. This is with +135 +800 oc stock volts in ambient 25 degree room. Is this larger difference from the ops numbers just due to 670mx being much cooler? Or does it mean my heat sinks are ok?

I would advice you NOT to use furmark. It's just bad for your GPU..

  6. Isn't 2500 mhz on memory too much for 680m?

It will probably need overvolting for that

It differs from card to card, I've just read about other people having a stable overclock at those clocks, note that this is not a recommendation from me.

  7. Hello, I picked up the laptop model in the title and its quite a nice computer but I think I'm experiencing quite a bit of cpu bottling as the amd cpu doesn't seem to be really able to cut it. When I was buying the laptop I figured it wouldn't be that big a deal but it is. So anyway I figured I could just replace the part but I don't know if I can do that easily or not or if I have the power supply spare for a better chip or for that matter what chip would fit in the slot. So I figured I would ask this forum after failing to find obvious answers on google

    So in order,

Is replacing cpus in msi laptops any more complicated than in other laptops

Are and which intel cpus are compitible with the gx70

Is the powersupply going to be an issue

    Cheers.

    1. Replacing the CPU's is very easy, just unscrew the bottom - remove the fan screw and remove the fan - remove the heatsink by unscrewing the three screws and replace the CPU.

    2. No intel CPUs are compatible as it only supports AMD

    3. How many watts does your current powersupply have?

People have bought a10-5750m engineering samples with unlocked multiplier so that's your best bet if you want better CPU-performance.

  8. Thanks for the thanks!

One thing I have noticed, with all the mobile Haswell CPU sockets, the latch is no longer operated by a flat blade screwdriver. You will need to arm yourself with a Torx screwdriver, T-9 seems to be the best fit. T-10 does fit, but you need to provide a lot of pressure for the teeth to grip the head of the screw.

I thought something was a bit off with that lock :D
