  1. No, only certain disassembly steps void the warranty, usually accessing the heatsinks or removing the CPU from the socket, and they have stickers telling you that. It's not like they're gonna prevent you from swapping out the hard drive or WLAN/WWAN card; that would be absurd. But if they can't prove you did anything, then no harm done. If you're worried, you could certainly send the overheating laptop in and tell them to do the repaste for you, but then you have to deal with the long turnaround time and high possibility that they'll use the cheap stuff and glop it on again, making no improvement in temps. If you do it yourself, you can use high quality TIM and perform a good application. This laptop is not too difficult to disassemble compared to some others so there's not a high chance of breaking anything, but doing it yourself while the warranty period is still active means that in the unlikely chance you do break something, you can call them up and beat around the bush to get it repaired for free, whereas if you wait until after the warranty has expired to do it you won't have that luxury.
  2. After succesfully update bios to this modded (msi gt60 stock bios to .30m) i still can't change values on intel XTU except reference clock. How to enable other options?

Why i can't change cpu/ram frequency on bios?

After reebot and open bios settings on MAIN thread a see only this options:

    system date

    system time

    sata information

    system information

How i can see other ,,overclocking,, options?

    How i can hange ram (1600mhz to 1866mhz) and i7 3610qm frequency?

    Best redgards!

You can't overclock the 3610qm, you might be able to up the BCLK a bit. What RAM do you have?

  3. Ok, thanks for the info about heatsink!

I'm getting Dell card after all. - I can get it for free. Otherwise I'd need to pay for clevo card.

Can you please upload your vbios? - I'm not sure maybe the one from clevo has the optimus off so hopefully it will work in my GT780.

I flashed clevo/msi bios on many dell cards I got my hands on just like this one and it worked fine everytime, hope the 770m wont be the exception...

  4. So I have recently put together a 16F3 with 3740qm and 770M (clevo).

On the stock vbios I have issues getting the drivers installed and going from the loading screen to a black screen. The device manager also complains about a resource conflict between the 770M and the HD4000.

So I flashed the 11E0 MSI Vbios on and the drivers will install.

However if I start a 3d application I get a driver crash, sometimes this reboots the machine with a BSOD, sometimes it recovers. If it recovers the 770M is permanently on but 3d works just fine.

    Anyone had this issue?

  5. Has anyone installed it into the 683DRX sucessfully?

Just curious about why the bios is shared between 683R and 683DXR (as far as I know their motherboards are different, aren't they?)

The gt683 BIOS is the same as the one in gt683dx/dxr/r.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FLASH STOCK WIN8 BIOS GE60 'E16GAIMS.514' or GE70 'E1756IMS.514' BEFORE FLASHING THE WIN8 MOD!!!
    Yes, I did it.

    Hi.

I was flashing bios in my GE70-0ND using this line

    AfuEfix64.efi E1756IMS.514 /p /b /n /k /r

    I was getting error

18: bla bla bla... (because bios which I was wanted was unlocked, with original flashing was working)

    so I used

    AfuEfix64.efi E1756IMS.514 /p /b /n /k /r /recovery
and wrote yes when he wanted reset. (bios wasnt flashing)

/RECOVERY - Override Secure Flash policy to Recovery

He restarted and I saw blank screen. (LCD without power)

    What I can do now?

Have you done a power drain Or CMOS reset? If it doesn't work you'll have to try with a blind flash.
  7. Well ain't this just interesting. Glad to see actual evidence of this working!!

@Suoah, are you still using the 2630qm, and if so do you have any before and after benches?? I'm interested in this or the 7970m. I know the 7970m is faster but if this doesn't require a new heatsink it'd be a cheaper upgrade option.

Actually I have a i5 CPU, new laptops often come in lower specs in my country and almost double the price compared to the US. Although I have'nt experienced any bottlenecking, I'm going to upgrade the CPU too if I don't sell the laptop first :P

I don't have any beches sorry.
