I am using an EXP GDC with Generation 2.0 PCI. That was working fine. 

I recently used a ribbon cable to make my install look a little neater, and fit it inside a mini-itx case.

In the process of this i did manipulate the HDMI cable a bit, and also had some driver issues and reinstalled some drivers.

Now when using the ribbon cable between the card and EXP GDC, I am only unable to use Gen 1 PCI. Has anyone else seen Gen 2 fail when trying to use a ribbon cable?

GTX 560ti, EXP GDC, 2570p 16gb RAM.

All the USB ports are hosted off the Intel Southbridge chip (QM77).  The same chip also hosts the x1 PCIe ports used by the wifi card, expresscard slot, card reader. It makes sense that a power spike off the USB line could affect the PCIe line.

Could I buffer any power spikes by using an externally powered USB hub perhaps?

If you really require the external USB port function on the eGPU adapter then suggest getting a PE4C V3.0 instead. It's a better build device.

 

 

It actually happens when using the USB port on my 2570p docking station, not the USB port on the EXP GDC. 

Like if i unplug my phone, and then plug my headphones to charge it will BSOD

I have a 2570p with gtx560ti using a EXP GDC Beast. 

The card itself works fine and is stable, although I have a strange issue when plugging and unplugging different USB devices now. 

I get a BSOD regarding 'video_dxgkrnl_fatal_error'

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this before? I think it may be something to do with PCI/USB resource management, so perhaps using Setup 1.30 may help fix it. 

I fixed it. 

I had to convert my windows 10 install from 'legacy bios' with MBR partition table, to GPT partition table with UEFI boot mode. 

What. A. Mission. /without losing data

Do I need to get a copy of eGPU Setup 1.30 to make this work with Windows 10?
Have followed the guides to the letter, but still cannot seem to create the 'Large Memory' entry in the Device Manager.

Have attached a copy of the dsdt.dsl I edited, and then loaded with 

> asl /loadtable dsdt.aml 

dsdt.zip

The names of the devices in windows 10 is different to what is in that guide. I just compiled and loaded with 'asl /loadtable dsdt.aml '

however no 'large memory' entry is no in the device manager. 

Shouldnt a gtx560ti be plug and play though??

In windows 10 is the PCI Bus called the 'PCI Express Root COmplex' ?

F42 Bios and also tried nando's DSDT patch load.bat ... no joy. I created a restore point before trying that and am now back at that point. 

I thought no override's or anything were needed for a 1gb GTX560ti, but I am getting error 12 consistently. 

Is there something I am missing?
