  1. Great! Now i can order the necessary components. If i have any problems during the setup, i will contact you ;-) Have a nice day and thanks a lot for your help.
  2. Thanks for the links. I don't want to travel with the eGPU, so it can be a "Ghetto" mod. If everything works fine, i will think about, to put everything in an PC case.
  3. Hey Dschijn, thanks for the quick answer (frohe Weihnachten wünsche ich Dir natürlich auch). This sounds good. I use also Octane and sometimes DAZ Studio (can also address a specific GPU in the render options). When i am right, I need the AKiTiO, an powerful PSU (500W), the GPU, an TB2 cable and two other adapters and the newest GPU drivers. Is this all? Have you any experiences with external eGPU? Can you perhaps help me to find the right components (especially the adapters i need)? I found the "Akitio Thunderbolt2 PCIe Expansion Box MP-TB-PCIE" in an online shop for 275€. Can i use any Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti (e.g from MSI, ZOTAC, ... ) or have i to look for an special vendor? And where to buy the adapters in germany? Thank you for your help in advance.
  4. Hallo, i am new to this forum and i have read a lot in the last days because i am looking for a solution for my new iMac but i have not found what i am looking for. As i told, i have bought a new iMac 21" 4k with retina display. I am working with Photoshop and 3D rendering software. Now i want to use the possibility of the NVIDEA IRAY support. That means, i need a very fast GPU with a lot of CUDA cores to improve my render times. My question is: Has anyone tried, to use an external eGPU (e.g. Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti) in an AKiTiO Thunder2 PCIe box in combination with an new iMac under OS X El Capitan (V 10.11.2)? Will it work? I don't want to use the eGPU for gaming, just for rendering. Would be nice, if someone can help me. Thank you Stephan P.S: Sorry for my bad english writing but i am living in germany and do not use english very often ;-)
