1. I claimed a refund a couple of minutes ago, let's hope they do the right thing.
2. That is correct! Optimus is engaged when a intel HD3000/4000 (now also Haswell iGPU's) is combined with an Nvidia eGPU.
3. Damn, that's some crazy stock clocks! I think that explains much =)
4. Well to be honest I never understood if Physx is recommended to be set on the CPU due to bandwidth limitations. I know that when playing Borderlands 2 my game is unplayable if Physx is set to higher than LOW, it doesn't matter if I run CPU or GPU, ever tried it? I'm also a fan of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and that game is almost more CPU demanding than Prime 95 (due to poor coding) and I use Physx->GPU to unload some of the heat. Would be nice if anyone could verify these games on another eGPU setup =)
5. That's a VERY nice score. Please give us the details: hardware, software, overclocking? Good job! - - - Updated - - - I don't know much about the UltraMon/Chung-Gun but you wouldn't have to deal with that when buying a proposed optimus system (that have hd3000/hd4000) I from the list I mentioned. Yes, optimus = internal screen + highest possible bandwidth for GEN1/GEN2. Check out the list and look for a deal @ebay. If you make a find, run it by the community and someone will help you, good luck sir!
6. .................... - - - Updated - - - No no, you got it all wrong, there is no stupid/annoying questions here =) From what I understand this notebook is first generation i3/i5/i7 CPU with a dedicated GPU (nvidia)? First, you need optimus to render internal screen (quote from first page): "Optimus tweak engages only when Intel 4500MHD/HD/HD3000/HD4000 primary graphics AND x1 link is detected, improving mostly DX9 performance by 20-333% with some DX10 improvements as well. Provides ability for the internal LCD to render games running on the external GPU" From what I can see from googling "E6410 switchable graphics" it seems that you don't have any switchable graphics options on your system, this means that you can't have your iGPU as primary video card -> No optimus There is a lot of low cost ivy/sandy bridge expresscard systems out there that will give you much higher performance than what you'll ever get from your current system, see first page "7. (Performance) What recommended candidate notebooks should I buy for best performance?" I hope this helped you somewhat =) ..and don't forget to read the first page (like I did 100 times) of this thread, it really have almost all of your answers!
7. Hi guys! This is my first post here at the 12.5" HP Elitebook 2570P Owner's Lounge. As @Tech Inferno Fan mentioned earlier "ebay performance vendor has 2570P with i7-3840QM!!": I spoke some more with the vendor and this is what they told me regarding the 3840QM upgrade they are doing (quite promising): --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
See this mail conversation: From jacobsson: Dear [Vendor name], Thank you sir for the answer! So as I understand from your answer is that you don't do any modifactions for the cooler, just high quality paste? I might be trying it myself and of course take full responsibility. Best regards, - jacobsson Answer from vendor: Dear jacobsson, That is correct, we just use Arctic Silver. Thanks, [sellers name] On Tue, Jul 2, 2013 at 12:02 PM

8. Omg.. I'm scratching my head right now. How can it be that we have tested 2-3 different systems and only manage GEN1? I wish I had the PM3N right now so that I could verify this once and for all, but spending even more $ (incl. unnecessarily high shipping costs) on redundant hardware is not very tempting at the moment. @
9. Congrats, nice to hear goodwill from companies! If it turns out you wouldn't find a use for the PE4H I'd gladly buy it from you.
10. I don't know much about thunderbolt but this is a 2m for $20.
11. A: I use an XBOX PSU for my ASUS mini GTX 670, the PSU is not even close to warm (even when gaming chivalry/BF3 for hours) so II'm going to test some OC myself. Check out @MikjoA 's setup, he's been doing a lot of OC with a similar setup. B: There should be even more room for OC with the Ti, but first run some stress tests without OC to check stability and heat! (check cables/wires/psu/solder points for heat) C: Sorry, I don't understand that question. Remember, be careful I don't take any responsibility for any broken hardware. Again speak to @MikjoA for more info!
12. My interpretation of this is that they succeeded to establish a stable GEN2 link over the PCIEMM-060B via express card, is that what you think also? Ps. Since I have the PCIEMM-060B cable but no PM3N (I got 2xEC instead of one each) I need to find someone that could sell me one for cheap. PM me if you have one.
13. According to earlier tests a detachable cable has always failed GEN2 due to the mini HMDI connector (I'm no expert in electronics so I can't give you any details) and that is why we are very sceptic regarding this new cable. I have made an order of this new setup to verify this claim so just wait a week or two until my stuff arrives to be sure!
14. So guys, I pulled the trigger on the PE4L-PCIEMM package (with both EC and PM3N to test). I'll keep you updated as soon as the stuff arrives. Let's hope for some detachable-GEN2 action
15. Well I'm absolutely willing to test this if there is any chance of returning it. I also think they should stand for shipping costs back and forth if their claims are false. I'm saying this since I'm going to buy 1 or 2 new units for work =)
16. Well they still claim that the "round" cable at the left hand side is GEN2 and the right (flat cable) is GEN1. Is this updated by BPLUS since @Tech Inferno Fan talked to them or is this yet a new claim? Dammit. I jumped up and down at first, "finally a detachable GEN2 solution for PM3N!!". Do they even test their products before stating that it is capable of doing 'this and that'?! EDIT: They even claim that PE4L2.1b is now GEN3 capable.
17. Yes, I'll do that. Thanks! (Can help but to feel pissed of right now, good luck with your new scam business Randy.)
18. God dammit, I paid with credit card! Any suggestions for me? :(
19. I really don't want to be rude, but how are you going to cancel your order when they doesn't answer? I'm in the same situation as you Maybe we should gather up and confront them in some way?
