  1. Ok so the EXP GDC works for the x220, so no problem there. Have you tested uninstalling the adapter in device manager, also uninstall (and delete) the expresscard port drivers for port2? This will give you a fresh install. Before doing all this, test to give the EC a light press and hold it to see that it's inserted all the way.
  2. Hmm that is weird. I wonder if the 750ti is one of those tricky cards that needs pci-compaction, @Tech Inferno Fan what do think? Edit: one thing I think is positive is that the adapter and card is responding, so we will figure this out
  3. Hmm... I have one idea: 1. cold-boot system 2. before win logo: plug the EC first, w/o AC-power active. 3. before win-logo: plug AC-power (with EC in the slot) Any difference?
  4. @rhx123 "eGPU Laptop: HP Elitebook 2570p with Intel i7-3250m + 8GB DDR3 + Nvidia 750Ti @1.2" Did you make a write-up with pics and benchmarks? I'd love to a 750ti in an eGPU setup! =)
  5. 1. I too had problem flashing the posted ME:s (I even managed to lose my original ME when flashing), so it seems to be unique You could ask @Khenglish if he could modify yours, I'm very interested to test yours to see if it might work for my system. 2. $25 at eBay 3. If you wanna get crazy with the colors: New HP Compaq Elite Book EliteBook Keyboard TrackPoint Cap Blue 8760w 8760P | eBay <- I'd imagine its the same size cap for elitebooks, @Tech Inferno Fan what do you think?
  6. Yes, you have the 6pin + 8pin <-- (6+2) so you can connect power to any card basically. The EXP GDC is also compatible with regular ATX PSU using a SWEX looking cable. The GTX670 and GTX680 are basically the same architecture (both GK104, but GTX670 has fewer cuda cores) so I don't think you'd notice any bigger difference there. You could always get a better card (e.g GTX770 230W) and lower its TDP to < 220W, but for unmodified clocks/TDP I'd say GTX680 would be the best card performance wise for the dell 220W adapter atm.
  7. He is selling the v5.8 by default (don't know why) but I asked for the v6.0 instead
  8. It's on its way, I'm sorry for the delay! I haven't had time for anything but work lately.
  9. I'm currently using a exp gdc + gtx670 ~ 170W TDP. I'd imagine a gtx680 would work as well.
  10. Can you link some of those desktop/laptop monster-builds?(didn't know they existed) I can't really see how the dimensions would be 'mobile'. The great thing about eGPU is that when I need to work I just undock the un-necessary eGPU and carry my small laptop in a regular laptop bag. I used to have 17" gaming laptop breaking my back when going to school/work everyday.
  11. Yeah you should test the card in a friends desktop just to be sure it is still ok. The PE4L x1 connector is really shitty, but the card should not be able to just slid out, that I'm sure of. Please report back if the card is functional or not. I really wish I could help you more.
  12. Here you go buddy! $18 (incl. shipping): The New Original Odd Bezel Assembly For HP EliteBook 2560P 2570P-in Other Computer Products from Computer & Networking on Aliexpress.com
  13. yes that sounds very light, the brick weighs ~1.35kg or so. If the brick is included you will receive an extra invoice to cover the extra weight.
  14. Nice! Remember not many here except me has tested this adapter. I like it and it works great for me but I can't guarantee it'll work for you.
  15. Hmm I got a power brick included last time I bought one from there. Also got the the pci-e power cable.
  16. Check yoybuy.com, I think the power brick -version is listed there!
  17. Yes, @MikjoA has done an Z2 mPCIe implementation here. I think he uses a PE4L 2.1b for 1.2opt now a days.
  18. Could you redo the test w/o cover and full fan blow? (use tpfancontrol) I'd like to see the duration of x33 multiplier. Thanks!
  19. Sound like you might need Setup 1.x to initialize the eGPU into the PCI-space. What do you think @Tech Inferno Fan?
  20. Could you make a screen capture for us to see your problem? I remember having these issues when my EC wasn't pushed all the way in the slot -> causing bad 1.2opt link Also: I wish everybody that has implemented an eGPU could update their signature, so I this case I could check your specs etc.
  21. Naah, that sounds like putting propellers on a submarine. Don't you have a mPCIe port you can use? If so you should be quick to tell Cloud Hero (the seller) to send you the mPCIe-version instead! Than again @Tech Inferno Fan could prove me wrong?
  22. Slow and steady! To much to do at work right now,the scores in my sign are done by the EXP GDC if you care to look, EDIT: Just realized my expression "care to look" sounded 'douchy', it was not my intention =)
  23. Personally I'd buy the EXP GDC v6.0 (ask the seller for the v6.0) and a GTX670.
  24. To be honest I don't think you will gain much at all. AMD + PE4L2.1b/EXP GDC will only give a PCI-e 1.2 link, whilst NVIDIA cards have the benefits of utilizing Optimus Compression => 1.2opt link. See 5830 vs 750M for comparison.
  25. Hmm HD 5830 AMD card? Not sure what kind of implementation you might need to do in order to have it running. Ask @Tech Inferno Fan. My advise: Don't buy anything before having this checked!
