  2. Hi guys.

    I'm just wondering

How to check 12V of dell da-2 with multimeter ?

Is same as PSU atx ?

    I have been tried.

This psu haven't power on (green pin) like psu atx.

So I dont need power on the dell psu.

Instead I plug yellow pin (12 V) with red cable and black cable from multimeter into ground pin according the images.

And the result show 0V instead of 12 V

    ??????

    What's wrong with me ?

    Update:

I got it guys. Try plug remote and ground pin

    Thank you.

but why are so many users in this thread reporting crashes with PE4C 3.0 ?? Really want to order the PE4C 3.0 to replace my EXP GDC V8 (which crashes now and then with gen2) but PE4C 3.0 is 2 to 3 times more expensive thant the EXP GDC v8 and I don't want to spend so much money for something which will not be stable on gen2..

So are users reporting crashes with PE4C v3 just stupid users who don't know how to connect the GPU or are there really issues with PE4C v3 on gen2??

Me either who use pe4c v.3

And I am still suffering unstable gen 2.

About RMA, that will be costly in my country.

I don't know what's happening to others. But I had performance issues on gen2 with my first PE4C 3.0, so I made an RMA and replaced it with a working one. Probably some manufacturing issue with the cable or soldering...

Yes. I had to return it for them to test it. Strangely it worked on Gen1 and did not crash at Gen2, just had terrible performance.

    You're lucky, man.

Btw, I Switch gen 1 And my PE4C v.3 still got crash.

    But I'm okay with it

    (because of desperation)

I've got little problem with my system after booting.

It was six months ago, but I'm lazy to fix that. But I cannot tear up my laptop forever.

My system specification is described in below (signature)

First, I plug expresscard (ec) into laptop and booting. It was running normally. eGPU detected and it's nothing problem. I can run any games smoothly and benchmark any programs.

But after I shutdown the system and unplug the ec and booting again, I saw bluescreen on the screen that describe whea_uncorrectable error.

So, I must force shutdown with keeping press the power button until system was off.

And this accident got my system, again and again.

    What's the solution ?

Hopefully, I can found it on this thread.

3 weeks and I cannot resolve this problems

So i have installed a clean version of Windows 10, UEFI. My device manager shows this:

I do not have Setup 1.x installed just yet. When I run something like Heaven Benchmark I'm getting like 7 FPS on ultra.

This is also using an kitio thudnerbolt 2 setup.

When I successfully ran this under 8.1 windows it was easily 50 fps. maybe more.   I thought the drivers for Nvidia Fixed this kind of stuff.  What should I do? Any info you want me to show you?

Did you update latest intel HD ?

It let me hot plugged now.

Hi guys first of all thank you for all information displayed in the forum's.

    My question is;

Depending on the graphic that I'll be using the Dell 220p AC will be sufficient, but is it better to get an ATX power supply instead?

Does it comes included with the Pe4c v3?

If not can I buy it separately? Don't see it in the website.

    Cheers guys

I recommend to buy new atx psu.

    Dell da2 220w was discontinued.

If you found one, that will be refurbished.

Wait for gigabyte or powercolor TB3 enclosure. I think this enclosures more cheap than razer core.

    Hi,

New to the forum and to eGPU.  I was going to order the P4EC v3.0 but realize I could not use both an mpcie and the express card because the cables are not interchangeable, they are soldered onto the boards.  I wanted to do my own testing to see which would be the prefered method for me because I have both options.  Can someone tell me what the pro's/cons of both adapters?  It would save me some $$$ from purchasing 2 whole units.

If you ignored the performance of pcie gen 1, maybe you are considering to buy PE4C 2.0

I have been following a story about someone who had made the core hot pluggable on a Dell XPS15.  Out of curiosity, I wondered if the same setup would work on my TB2 Egpu setup.   I can confirm that it does.

Could I use the method with express card setup ?

    [update]

    that works too on me

    Awesome!

    thanks dude !
