Good news everyone, i just got a confirmation from a source directly at Dell that both the m18x and m14x are a go.

He has an internal document with part numbers and descriptions for both the m14x and the m18x.

Well, what's their eta saying on the order status page? If it's still within the ETA there is really nothing you can say.

I remember the crazy delays there were with the R2 and how they bumped the eta for a week each time. It that will be the case then you can complain and get compensations.

But until they change the original eta there isn't anything you can do.

Yeah, i tried to overclock that HP but i can't find a way to do it.

for now i am using it for work only and it does the job, and i just ordered the R3 so waiting for it

i used the NZXT Cryo LX on my R2 and i was very happy with it.

It's built extremely well, hot a 4 way USB hub plus it's vents were perfectly aligned with the R2's vents locations.

what specs did u pick?

I went with the basic 2630QM, 8GB of RAM, 6970M, 320GB HDD, and the 6300 WIFI.

The rep offered me the whole deal including a free Razer Orochi mice for a nice round 2K$ before taxes.

I think i got a decent discount.

I actually configured the system with 4GB of memory initially, and i think the rep made a mistake and ordered 8GB

I plan on upgrading to a 2920xm when the prices become sane plus i am ordering a SSD to in right away.

Any recommendations ?

I Put an order for a R3 today, i blame it all on Brian cause I was going to wait for the m18x but he convinced me otherwise

I am still hoping and expecting the M18X to be launched in the march/april timeframe.

And I hope/expect the SSDs that will be offered with this unit will be the new Sammies 470 series instead of the old ones.

And I'd be willing to dump the 16:10 display for the 16:9 one if I can get more than 5 hours of battery life with an integrated graphic card...

I'd be more than willing to sacrifice the RGBled for the Wled if I can setup 3 HDD (SSD) in RAID 5...

I wouldn't mind having only a white Alienhead logo on the top if I can get USB 3.0 all across the board...

Ditto for the aluminium if I can get SATA3 including the ESATA port...

Also Santa, I want a real subwoofer, keep my number pad, give me a bios that loads in less than 5 seconds, keep the great lightning keyboard, discard the dowdy VGA and the proprietary display ports...

Don't throw away the Xpress card slot like you did with the R3; I need it for my NTSC card...

Can U please build this unit for me ?

That will be a great addition. As much as I love my M17X R2, my M11X R2 never leaves my side. It is the little everyday workhorse for all the less demanding needs the M17X takes care of.

Plus I love the fact she performs so well when stacked against other brands. Would definitely keep this thread in my favorites to keep up to date with the latest drivers. Thx Brian

I'm definitely going to give that a shot on Monday. It'll be a bit of a pain to not have a laptop for however long it take them to bring out the M18x but I'll live. I was all geared up to talk to a rep Friday afternoon after multiple phone transfers and then work got in the way and I was too pooped when I got home to put up a fight.

I've recently sold my R2 since I was offered too good of a price to pass on and it's a pain to wait on the m18x but I think it will be worth it eventually. I'd push for money back

Everyone should be flocking over here since nbr closed another m18x thread. I just dont get BB and cpj? Dont they realize if they keep killing conversations, ppl will leave? No one was arguing, so I don't see a point in closing it.

Yeah no kidding, I provided proof on that thread by Dell posting the model number and it still got closed. I personally don't think it's anything to do with BB he's usually pretty cool CPJ on the other hand is gonna be the "big headed, power trip" downfall of nbr.

This is what pushed us to start T|I, it's just ain't fun anymore.

LOL I don't even know of a 14" rig with a numpad. Do you know of any? I'm very excited for this rig, as long as it comes with good specs and can run at full speed(GPU/CPU) on battery I'll be picking one up to go along side the R3.
