  1. Hah yeah I'll give it a shot but... you think that's possible after a full year? :) Any chance of putting that money as some kind of a "Dell credit" that I could use later? (lol....)

Or maybe I could just delay calling (I can honestly tell you I wouldn't touch XPS with a 10-foot pole) until m14x gets out. I mean I do have this warranty for another full year. :P

M14x launch seems immanent, I'd wait for it to come out if you can. But in the end it really depends on the rep youll get when asking for a replacement. He might agree for a money back, but i think it'll be easier to convince him to give you a m14x + you add money than to convince him to give you your money back.

Good luck anyway, and keep us informed ;)

BTW, did u see the Chinese review of the m14x ? It's on the front page of techinferno.com..

  2. Not sure you guys are aware of this.. remember the backdoor number to get your real order status back when we were ordering the R2s?

well the old number doesn't work anymore but if you call

1-800-ALIENWA (1-800-2543692) then, 2 ,1 it'll ask you to enter your order number and then it'll redirect you to another place, where it'll ask you to enter your order number again (WTF?) and finally you'll get that detailed status.

    Mine says "Build Stage"....

  3. How do you think guys,will m17x R2 work with 6970m crossfire?Or 6970m eating more power then 5870m?

it will be covered thoroughly in the m17x-R3 review we're working on, however, i can tell you already that 6970 XF ain't gonna happen in a R2.

  4. Yes i did, and while i live in Israel i perfer to make my Dell purchases via Dell US, because as you say the prices are quite inflated in Europe and in here too.

I've got a thread detailing how i do just that.

For comparison, i build the same config as yours minus the 2820 cpu, i took the 2630, and my price after taxes was 2150$ including a razer orochi mouse.

Sure, i still have a 80-100$ shipping to Israel plus 16% VAT when it enters Israel, but it's still less than 2500$ after all is said and done.

    Cheaper, right ?

  6. hahahah, i am still in love with the m1730, it's a great machine.

My wife uses it now, and i too, wait for the R3 to arrive. Should be here this week, btw, how much did you pay for the R3 and what are the exact specs (if it's not a secret) ?

  7. No not me, I cannot downgrade to 1080p unfortunately, those 120p are very important ( even if the R3 screen was RGB LED, that's another reason I stick with the R2). But yeah given your situation with the screen, an upgrade would be very expensive so you are better off with the R3 for that price.

welcome to the forum btw :)

I have a feeling you are going to be stuck with the R2 till the end of time unfortunately...

Oh, and MrFlibble, welcome to our forum! We're glad to have you whatever you decide ;)
