yes it does work better with the custom vBios

Just follow this guide and make SURE that you backup your vBios before flashing it, just in case:

Got 2 x 880m in SLI but no matter if SLI is enabled or not my M18xR2 is freezing often with black screen.

No problems for me with a Clevo P377SM-A with dual 880M's. You'll have to wait for someone with an Alienware. For the black screen part you mean running the laptop without external power only battery? Yeah the custom bios doesn't downclock properly and the nvidia drivers will crash if you run on battery that's why you have a black screen. Apart from that everything runs perfect in my part. The battery part kinda sucks.. Hopefully it will be corrected by svl7

Hi everyone, I just purchased a dual 880m version of P377SM-A and it works well. But I heard from somewhere that the fan speed is limited by BIOS to about 75% percent. Is that true? Is there any way to unlock it to 100%? I have already flashed the Prema BIOS but I can't find any option for fan speed.

Another question, did anyone overclocked a 880m in P37xSM? Is the improvement significant? What clock should I overclock to? I'm talking about overclocking in terms of editing vBIOS.

Mate I have the same Clevo with dual 880M's. Try pressing Fn+1 (not the 1 in numpad. . The number line) and you will be able to get it to 100%

Or do like me and flash prema's custom bios on it and the custom bios for each graphic card from svl7 to enjoy the system to the maximum

Hi Prema, I recently found and installed your bios mods (They are GREAT thanks!). I am having some temp trouble with my cpu. I have a P170SM and would like to know if there is anyway to control the fan so i can set it to 100% like you can on the P170EM?

I looked through the forums here and done some of the hardware mods but it still isnt enough, any kind of help would be great.

Use Fn+1 to set the fans to maximum

-Wi-Fi ac 7260 is a headache card. Really. No comments here. I could fix it by disabling HT mode and dealing with some band and energy configs, but I don’t feel nice having this card on my laptop.

Make sure you install the latest drivers from Intel site for it..

OT: I had to rush to the other end of the world to support a very good friend of mine who was diagnosed with "terminal cancer"...fuck the chemo and the doctors who declared him dead...he's getting better every day since he left the hospital and started a strict diet etc...sometimes all you need is love.

Totally happy with it. I've got Windows 8.1 on one msata, OSX on the other, and two 1TB storage drives, all my games are fine so I don't have to worry about overclocking right now, I love my 120hz screen, and it's still portable.

There are limitations but the trade offs in the 570 are silly for me right now when I have a desktop I can play with if I have things this machine can't do. To be honest though now that I have OSX, there isn't anything the desktop can do the laptop can't other than some higher benchmarks due to 4.4GHz CPU

Yep that was it, thanks Prema! Now I need to work out getting the display to work with the nVidia drivers. Nice to know it treats the 880M as a 680M, it just doesn't initialize eDP by default since there are no 3D macs. I'll get it fixed though, awesome! Everyone should just have you make the bios for them, it really makes the machine twice as useful!

Just picked up a p150sm-a, having received it in the mail yet, but should be coming soon. I having done this in awhile, and im alittle nervous about flashing a bios on something I just paid good money for.

My question is though ive read through almost the whole thread and dont see any mention of a V2 for the sm-a model. At this point is V1 what you have avabile for the A model? Just wondering, making sure im getting the newest bios.
