Yes, I've mod it already.... Notice even without overclock also fluctuating...very hard to know if can reach its potential...I OC like clock +60-80 and Mem +200-400 only...

My mainboard is P15SM-A + 4930MX.

I have problem with unstble clock badly with Prema mod vbios for 980M. Also carddraw the power up and down drastically compare to stock bios. Once I OC even just a slightly one, benchmark FPS swing up and down badly and end up with low score eventually. Any body experience like mine? I am using 330W Dell mod..

The blue ID wire should be thin and at the centre of the cable exactly like in the picture in the guide. If you connect the blue ID wire coming from the PSU's PCB to the negative wire you have nothing to worry about. The Dell 330W actually switches and grounds the ID wire on its own when it receives the correct signal back from an M18X/X51. This is how the 240W limit is lifted. In this case by connecting the ID wire to the negative wire we're manually grounding it.
edit: to set your mind at ease, I've taken an excerpt out of imsolidstate's blog...
Alright it is work.. During benchmark my laptop drawed the power upto 220W with no issue.. Thanks for help..

Yes that would be a cleaner method. Good luck!
I measured positive against blue wire and got 13VDC, is this normal? Just afriad of short circuit..lol thanks alot for reply..

if i remember correctly CLEVO owners only need to ground the ID line (the thin blue wire in the guide). This simply means the blue wire needs to be connected to the negative wire (you can see a picture of the stripped cable in the guide showing the positive, negative and ID wires).
You may also need to get the specific connector for your laptop (If its not the same as Dells) or just cut your your existing CLEVO PSU connector and use that. You dont need to connect the ID line to the connector as CLEVO's dont use the ID line.
Just to be safe. Can I jump ID wire (blue) to ground wire (black) inside the power supply unit? Or I have to break ferrite choke and do over there?

That's what I did (I used DDU in safe mode) but I found out after the fact you just need to go into the control panel devices and right click disable on the 980M then flash.

All right, flash completed and GPU-Z showed new version of bios. However, still cannot OC it. Currently I am on 347.52..please advise..

OIC, do I have to uninstall Nvidia display driver before flashing? sorry to bother you so much. Thank you in advance

Same thing happened when I try to flash mod bios in bootable dos "No Nvidia adapter found". However, I checked my system detected the card correctly showed NV Gforce 980M.. Please advise..
-
Grab GPU-Z and do it from Windows. When you look to the right of the BIOS version, there's an icon that looks like a chip. Click that and it will save your vbios.
As for nvflash, read directions. You have to flash in Windows and there are specific instructions including a modded Windows nvflash.

So you think the "-4 -5" could have caused the issue? Then I'll try it again... A few minutes ago (before i read your post) I tried it again with a USB bootdisk and even modded several driver revisions with the proper hardware ids on my own - But when the installation started, it aborts 1-2 minutes later :/
I mean the flashing process goes without any problems.. I can't figure out the possible problem.

As long as your voltage, clock and memory is unlock no throttling, it is fine...congrats. Share some OC, benchmark results...Mine one end up with have to buy a new 330W power supply due to 180W wasn't enough.

So... a few hours ago I tried to flash the modded vBios for my 800m - I had to use "nvflash -4 -5 -6 *.rom", because there was a mismatch in device IDs.
Afterwards I rebooted and Windows didn't recognize my card Was just listed as some sort of general video card and I also couldn't install drivers or read it out properly in GPU-Z (clock rates were at 0 Mhz).
Then I had to reflash the stock vbios - I tried the process two times, but there was the same issue.... Do you have any suggestions for me?
Below you'll find a GPU-Z screen of my GPU at the stock vbios.

Make sure you flash in DOS mode and also use only "nvflash -6 *.rom". I did on my 880M and succeed without any problem.

In addition to the adapter you need to connect the ID (green) wire to the ground (black) wire. If you don't do this then the PSU will only go up to 240W.
Thanks a lot for advise, any guide for connecting ID cable to black cable?

Hi, may anyone tell me that Dell 330W with 19.5V can be use with my Clevo machine? I notice that jack's diameter of Dell is bigger than mine one and My Clevo original adaptor come with 19V inly. Is it alright to use? Thanks in advance.. I plan to buy adaptor for the head itself ti solve difference head issue.
-
You can't use a Dell 330W on a Clevo, you need the ADP-330AB D PSU. Dell is AB B

Is it because of dilifference jack diameter only or also other things difference? I noticed that Dell has 19.5V output while Clevo has 19.0 V. Will this alright to use?
-
I just bough a Dell 330W adapter. However, the jack is bigger than my Clevo. How did you guys use it? Any adapter to convert from big head to small one?
-
i know its wrong topic but, i bought the 330w to overclock and it shutdown while 3dmark the LED turn off on the PSU and laptop run on battery whats wrong? with 240w it works, the bios can see the psu as 330w so i think everything should work..
330W didn't work? This make me wonder whether worth to grab a new power supply or not. Which bios you are using? Mod bios or stock one? Did you OC vga? If yes, how much you OC it? Your vga temp?
