  1. I have the same with my computer. Just shut your computer down before unplugging the egpu.
  2. Hi, In our case optimus compresses the data sent to the eGPU. Because the bottleneck is in most cases this connection, it speeds up everything. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  3. I advise to buy the Dell DA2 directly here in Germany. I think it's cheaper and you have warranty. Maybe you read it, I use the same notebook as you do, also with the Dell power adapter and a GTX 670. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  4. A now tested thumb drive works flawlessly, I could read with 28MB/s. So it really seems to be too less power for the G13. Probably I'll try to get a powered usb hub later.
  5. Hi, I've problems with the usb port of the EXP GDC. When I connect my Logitech G13 (it's like a keyboard) it reconnects all the time and I can't use it. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  6. Sometimes only some WiFi modules are unlocked in the bios to be used. That can obviously cause trouble if you connect an egpu to this port. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  7. Yes, it's the normal cable which you need for computers, too. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  8. By default it was set to x1.1 but I could switch to x1.2. That's what I have in Windows now too. How can I see if Nvidia Optimus is active? After I created the devcon.txt I can get in Setup 1.30 even with the GPU plugged in. I have another question: After chainloading/using startup.bat I am again at the grub2 menu (where I can switch between Linux/Windows/Setup 1.30). Is it possible to start Windows directly after chainloading/using startup.bat?
  9. Hi, I brought Setup 1.30 to disable my dGPU to get NVIDIA Optimus working with a GTX 670. I'm accessing Setup 1.30 over Grub2. My first problem is, that with the eGPU connected the Software stops at "VPT 2.01 Vivid color palette loaded to VGA DAC." The only thing I can do then is to reboot. With the eGPU unplugged I get this only sometimes. The next thing then is that I get a warning that I don't have a C:\config\devcon.txt. Is it better to have one, although I don't want to run a PCI compaction? And as a last point the NVIDIA GTX 670 is listed with x1. 1 speed, although I use an EXP GDC and the Intel Sandy Bridge platform which should result in x1.2.
  10. The EXP GDC detects when you plug in the express card or switch on the notebook. Only then the GPU starts running, which is really useful because you never need to switch it on or off manually. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  11. I worked with "get data back for ntfs" a year ago. I could restore nearly everything although windows formatted an encrypted disk. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  12. The 280W at the anandtech test is for the whole system, not only the GPU. In general the TDP is what the GPU will consume at maximum.
  13. I know with Linux you can easily redirect all output of the command line to a file. Maybe this is possible with windows 7 too. Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  14. Does the led of the Dell PSU switches from yellow to green? Gesendet von meinem Nexus 5 mit Tapatalk
  15. That's nice to hear. I'll buy Setup 1.30 maybe later. For now I'm happy to have increased performance compared to the dGPU.
