  1. As far as I know, you cant overclock the 2630QM, because the clock multiplier on that CPU is locked, if you want to overclock your CPU, you must get the Extreme Edition which has its clock multiplier unlocked by default, also if you want a 2.6Ghz clockspeed CPU, you can however install the Ivy Bridge i7 3720QM, though personally I dont recommend you to overclock the CPU since the M14x has only one heat pipe overclock the CPU and the GPU simultaneously would increase the chance of overheating the computer.

But for my curiousity, why do you want to overclock your CPU? Isnt 2Ghz is fast enough?

For certain games it not, At least 2.5 Ghz that's what i'm looking for.

Only other thing is a baseclock overclock and you wont get very far maybe up 1-3%. There will be added heat but if your willing to work at getting your temps down it might not be a problem. Best bet is if you do cpu make it small and concentrate more on the gpu.

Yes, baseoverclock i've done it before. But now my question is, If I do a Baseoverclock on my 2630qm and leave Turbo Boost off will I get a speed increase ?

Don't mind the grammar errors. couldn't be bothered.

  2. Seemed to fixed the problem... Uninstalled Nvidia Performance tool and installed EVGA Precision 2.something something... Either way, problem is gone now. Thanks for the fast replies and help everyone, great thanks. One question, If i overclock my i7 2630QM and Off Turbo Boost, Will my Overclock still work ? Will it be over 2.0Ghz ? or at least 2.5 Ghz ?

  3. Not even A min in game... Glitch, Flickers, Blackscreen for 2 seconds than loads back the game at 13 FPS - 15 FPS ...

GPU Temp when it appeared 60C* .Core Temps highest 75* C Used GPU-Z and Hwmonitor plus that HWinfo... After glitching and reload of game all Current GPU voltage jumps from 0.93v t0 0.83V ... So i Revert my Core Clock from 800 to 725 in the Nvidia System Tools, Than ran the game and GPU-Z states the following : GPU load 99% GPU core clock never goes over 202.5Mhz GPU memo 324.0Mhz GPU Shader 405.0 Mhz ... But in Nvidia i set it to 725/1080 ... Not to mention, Only when i restart my computer and start the game the voltage goes back to 0.93v's back goes back to normal allover again

  4. Just to check for others whom may be able to help... How do you know as in what method are you checking voltage with? Which tool etc?

I'm using Hwmonitor for the Voltage... Was just playing Xcom, Very Smooth... @ 800/1080/1600 than frame drops from 60 to 10 or 15, I alt tab out and open upp Hwmonitor

And the Voltage for the GPU reads 0.83V @max...

  5. If you cannot even get a stable clock @ 800/1000 how are you going to be able to get a stable clock @ 810/1000? That's impossible, I guess it is just your GT555M because it is kind of few of those that be able to get their GT555M to go pass 800/1000 without crashing games or BSOD on them. Btw, since you mention you're playing on an Ext monitor, I suggest you should try the 800/1000 on your native resolution to see if it will handle that resolution.

But still, I also tried play BF3 on my older brother's 1080p Ext monitor with my current OC and it work like a charm though with 5-10 less fps of course.

Okay, Good for you... Maybe the problem is because i'm using the Unlocked Vbios ? Anyway i decided to install just the A08 voltage mod no unlocks. So i flashed it and followed the instructions, so after the flas went to bios and reset to default. I'll continue to play and test @800/1000 memo or 1080 and if i get BSOD with the new flash i'll just let it go. OH Btw , is it suppose to be a constant 0.93V or 0.83 when not gaming but boosts up to 0.93V when gaming?

  6. Okay, so i guess 800/1000 is really not working for me... Maybe i should jump it to 810/1620/1000 or 1080 maybe it might work haha... if not i'll just set it back to 770/1540/1000 or 1080. Btw i use an External Monitor while gaming, 1680x1050.... Ohwell... OR should i just call Dell and get them to replace my Motherboard... Tell them after they installed my new Heatsink and Fan (which was 3 days ago) My Graphics card died on me... OR maybe I can call them and get a Replacement.

  7. I got BSOD @800 Mhz and 1000memo clock... and after the BSOD my CPU cant detect the GPU chip, so i have to shut down and wait 10 seconds... Any help guys ? Could it be, my Anti Virus ? Firewall ? Idk... Or should i just start overclocking at 800 mhz @ 900Memo clock... Does the Memory Clock matters ? I got 3 Gb Nvidia GT555m Or should i start slow, 750 Mhz @ 1000 memo ?
