  1. Just when I checked my order status I received this e-mail;

Well I told her yes I am proceeding with my order, I hope I'll get a good one

Why is this so? The product is mainly from Taobao or Alibaba?

    Angelia 18-08-2014 17:05:28<dl style="margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; width: 436px; display: inline-block; color: rgb(47, 47, 47); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><dd style="margin: 0px 0px 0px 10px; padding: 0px; min-width: 50px; max-width: 310px; border: 1px solid rgb(191, 209, 223); float: left; position: relative; line-height: 16px; background: rgb(243, 248, 252);">for this kind of item, we can only check the appearance for you , for function, we can not check, do you still want to buy ?

  2. Wow. Banggood are selling it now with the 220W AC adapter for US$77-delivered. That's cheaper than anywhere else. Banggood have a great track record in delivering LED torches. EXP GDC Laptop External PCI-E Graphics Card Mini PCI-E Set - US$77.00

The Russian dude is a rippoff-merchant BIZON, charging US$610 for US$274 worth of parts. I've made comments about him already at

    http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/2109-diy-egpu-experiences-%5Bversion-2-0%5D-344.html#post102526

funny how the name bang good came about to fruition LOL

but shipping options are not so flexible but price is good though...

yeah the second guy is a rip off, good luck to his plans and sales though

Anyone ordered that enclosure sold by cloud hero?

I was interested at it though, was just worried over GPU size incompatibilities though..

By the end of this month I can probably setup and review this EXP GDC V6

    Crossed fingers

  3. Just placed my order on Yoybuy.com couple of minutes back and crossing my fingers for a good condition working one..

anyone ordered that acrylic enclosure they are selling in yoybuy/alibaba/taobao?

found one russian ad/review last night on youtube and they are selling the EXP GDC V6.0 with their own version of enclosure and GPU, heck they even have a thunderbolt demo..

and a guy who had an english and dutch ad/review

  4. Hi, considering the EXP GDC v6 and GPU with additional power supply needs. Is there any reason why you should buy the special 6pin->6+8 pin cable and feed the GPU additional power pins from the EXP GDC when you use full PC grade PSU that can feed the GPU separately?

Maybe compatibility issues? It really depends on what type of gpu you are using if it requires more power or not

  5. The 280W at the anandtech test is for the whole system, not only the GPU. In general the TDP is what the GPU will consume at maximum.

Hmm isn't it for the GPU alone? (dumb question) AnandTech Portal | AMD Radeon HD 7950 Review Feat. Sapphire & XFX: Sewing Up The High-End Market

Aah yes it says there "Total System Power Consumption In Watts" LOL yes what a relief!!!

Well I sure did score a 7950 @ $115 bucks, crossing my fingers as to what the condition of the GPU is.

Did not purchase the EXP GDC V6 yet...

  6. It IS in the package? It wasn't in mine. All I got was ATX cable so that I can plug in regular ATX Power Supply. It means that you have to buy this cable:

    http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/1852090239/EXP_GDC_6P_turned_the_second_tier.jpg_200x200.jpg

But from what I know Hero Cloud doesn't sell it right now, so you have to buy it somewhere in local computer store. At least that was what I had to do.

Whoah alright thanks for the heads up buddy! this cable is quite generic right and can be bought at any computer hardware store right?

How do I make contact with Hero Cloud? Can he communicate in english?

  7. Is there anything in BIOS that allows to disable the dGPU?

    Like 'switchable graphics'?

According to some googling you can disable the dGPU, this would mean that you can have a Nvidia card with optimus compression and use internal screen too.

Let me know what you find!

Yeah I'll do that once I get home still at work though, but I am biased and more to the RED team LOL and I been into battlefield 3 and 4 lately so figures..

  8. Oh ok. So do you have the iGPU active?

The reason I'm asking is because an Nvidia card combined with intel iGPU is preferred due to optimus compression.

Yup I have an onboard 1GB Intel 4000 HD + 1GB AMD Radeon 8750M GPU.

And for that I think I could not be able to use an NVIDIA GPU right?

Setup 1.30 by Tech Inferno Fan might do the trick

  9. So the TDP of the 7870GHz edition and 7950 is both ~200W?

Then I'd go for the 7950 since it seems to outperform the 7870 in most aspects:

    AnandTech | Bench - GPU12

    What laptop did you have?

    Appreciate your replies man!

    7950 is @ 200W

    7870 Ghz ed @ 180W

But to my concern load power consumption results for an R9 270X is at 280 Watts as per anandtech tests to (it was Crysis 3)

That's why I could not decide but few minutes back found a very nice deal of a Radeon 7950 @ 115 bucks at the bay.

BSODs and glitches will be there when GPU is going to need more watt power than 220W right?

I don't want to use an ATX thats why LOL

But I am sure I will build a PC by Q1 2015, be it in SFF or mini ITX style.

And will definitely use this boy 7950 on it if it manages to survive.

    budget constraints.....

    I got a lenovo G500 i5-3230M+HD 8570M

I am not even sure if the mPCI-e port on this is on its whitelist, perhaps Nando4 setup 1.30 can eliminate that I am right?

  10. Hi buddy!

    It's an 6-pin male to 6 / 6+2 male PCIe.

The plug is not included if I remember correctly, which means you need to provide one for yourself.

    Alright thanks much buddy jacobson!

I am in a dilemma whether I should go with a 7870 GHZ ed or 7950 with that dell DA-2 220 watt DC adapter...

plenty of good prices nowadays on the 'bay

  11. This driver is stable enough for my enduro by the way.

Hell 14.4 is not a stable driver at all

This 14.7 RC did it for me plus latest Intel HD 4000 graphics drivers

    Lenovo G500

    i5 3230M+Intel HD 4000+AMD 8570M

  12. Hey guys yes AMD drivers can be very finicky, try this route; install DDU uninstaller, run it remove amd graphics driver, reboot, run DDU again and remove Intel HD graphics drivers, reboot. Install latest drivers for intel hd graphics, reboot, here's the most important thing don't install AMD 14.4 that hell of a thing is broken got damn it I swear don't ever install it! instead install the latest beta driver which have solved the finicky installation of AMD drivers which is amd catalyst 14.7 RC1 and then tell us your results..
