  1. SOOOOOO jealous. I love snowboarding, but there's no snow in new jersey yet :( Hopefully i'll go up to Vermont a bit this year. My grandparents live up there and usually once a year we head up

  2. Here's a little bit of footage from tonight. The first clip is from a match where some friends and I tried to drive a humvee through a tunnel.. ended up badly. Don't watch if you are prone to seizures.

    DISCLAIMERS:

    - Horrible Video Quality

    - No sound / audio tracks

    - Hardly edited at all

Reason for things above. 1. I didn't have time to set up my recording settings before we started. 2. Too lazy to edit.

Overall tons of fun on the T|I server :D

  3. mmskate try installing the mumble server, i had trouble because i forgot to install the idt driver, and i forgot to turn my fing mic ON. hahaha

I got it installed and everything, wasn't too hard, now the hard part is whether or not it actually works. I breezed straight through the Audio setup wizards because my mic isn't working so i just skipped anything that wasn't for audio capture, and set microphone capture to push-to-talk. Been waiting for 2 weeks for a response from a rep.

  4. hahhahah^^^ that was a lot of fun last night. Leaving C4 at the objectives ftw. Btw b00bs i wish you got an SS of us failing for a solid 4 minutes trying to find one of the objectives at Metro ROFL. I detonated about 12 C4 trying to break the wall through, all to just walk around the corner (and get killed by the camper known as 5150Joker).

  5. guys can u help me?

the game is Last remant (i know a bit old but still haven't get to ending when i play @ xbox so i cont here).... the lag is too painful to watch.... and it's effect other game as well when the battery is unplug...

    this is my spec

    Alienware M14x: i7 2630QM 2ghz, 8gb DDR3, 750gb 7200RPM HDD, 1600x900 HD+ WLED, 3gb GT 555M

    sorry for bad english

When you unplug your system, by default now (thanks to dell -ugh-) it limits the core clock of the GPU to 203. This is less than 1/2 of the regular clock. This is to prevent damage, since the battery cannot provide enough power when unplugged to fulfill the desired clocks. Its something you just have to deal with. If you don't want to deal with it, you'll have to get the Modded A01 bios and follow Stevenx's guide to Gaming on Battery. It's a few pages back in the M14x section (not in this thread but the section this thread is in).

  6. Pro Tip: Constantly move in conquest to a new objective, don't dilly dally or your points will diminish, and if you don't have a mic (or a working one in my case) everytime you decide to go to a new objective tell your team with team chat (default key K). If people actually come with you you will destroy the other team. Just be careful not to hit J, that will tell the enemy your plans.

    - If the enemy takes the base closest to your RU or US deployment, don't worry too much, it should be easy to take back given all your vehicles spawn nearby. Try flanking the enemy and retaking that base.

    - Go for bases that are close together, the more spread apart your troops are the more divided and weaker you are. For Caspian Border, the objectives i aim for right away are C and D, and then A since that one is easy to defend.

  7. This is literally the ideal server for me.

    - Ping of 15-20ms :)

    - 60% health (sniper win, more balancing for LMG :D)

    - No killcams (Worst scenario is you are getting kills and people literally track you down to get you specifically)

Only possible downside for me is no third person view. Helps in jets when your doing evasive maneuvering, but no third person view makes it more immersive / realistic :D

looking forward to seeing everyone on the battlefield, i'll let my friends know about the server

  8. Sounds awesome to me :D I'll see if i can find one of those Visa charge cards that i can buy stuff with to make a donation :) not sure if i can do it every month though, seeing that I don't have a job, but hey every bit counts

    Dear Lurkers, YES YOU,

We will not bite! I promise! Please post / vote , it takes two seconds. We WANT to get to know all of you. Join us in the shoutbox sometime or just post every now and then.

  9. -inserts NBR logic- Yes but that makes no sense since your rig was playing at a non-default resolution. Clearly your monitor added performance, get out noob Sagers Ftw.

Now back to reality, nice work gears, looks very impressive. The comprehensive mods that will come soon with the CK will be outstanding. Im so excited for new races / spells / game types / quests. Its going to be so epic.

Oh and any chance you can list the specific mods you used? My friend is looking to increase graphics since his rig already handles everything skyrim throws at him. Any compatibility errors?

  10. hahah I love how the name mDubs86 sort of stuck. :P . and i'm actually extremely glad that people are posting in this thread. its cool learning where everyone came from and their interests. That + what you get from talking to them on the forum is really neat.

Plus, seeing the different portrayals and viewpoints of T|I getting started reminded me of a movie lol!

  11. Downloaded the new 290.36 drivers, played it on skyrim and got 2-6 additional frames. Played on 1366x768, ultra but with shadows medium, AA off, and 8x AF. Note to anyone who downloads the drivers, they reset skyrim's settings to have v-sync on. I forced mine off. Basically got about a 10% increase, not too shabby. Played without overclock.

Oh and svl, you should be more careful with your tacos.

post-656-14494992157929_thumb.jpg Found the little dog having its way with it...

  12. haha wow that's a pretty awesome topic! You know your doing something right when you can make something complicated relatively simple! Did you capture that video on your own in the lab or get it from elsewhere btw? If so, nice spoons video :P

I don't have much time right now because I need to go see my family, but here's my research project in a nutshell:

Skp2 is a protein that is over-expressed in some cancers, and present in all of them. Recent studies have proven that SKP2 is overexpressed in Pancreatic cancer. Another study has linked Mizoribine, an immunosuppressive drug to be able to inhibit the production of skp2 in vitro. The point that becomes really important here is that SKP2 protein is essential for the cells (regular or cancer) to go from the G1 to S phase in the cell cycle. Therefore, if SKP2 is inhibited, then the cancer cells should not be able to grow and thus lack the ability to proliferate, allowing conventional cancer treatments to take out the cancer without the fear that it will spread throughout the body. We're going to have to measure a few things to make sure that the SKP2 is inhibited and to view how effective it actually is, but if my hypothesis yields favorable results, my junior and senior year research could consist of ways to have the Mizoribine directed to the areas of cancer. The best part about Mizoribine, is that it is not very harmful to the human body as a whole. So if all goes right, people with pancreatic cancer would be able to live for longer than 5 months.

As for what you said about physics, I'm glad that there are people out there like you who also share an enthusiasm for physics, it makes me feel more reassured :) . Other people in school just do the work and get by, but I'm so interested by physics itself ever since I was exposed to it. I find it so interesting that we can quantify how things around us in the world work, and apply it to creating the most mind-blowing creations and solutions to problems. Good luck on getting your PhD!!
