  1. Maybe stick at a limit of +100mv, and whatever the core is stable at with that voltage until you see other users pushing them further with no failures - assuming you don't want to be a pioneer!

    Yes you right my friend...😁

  2. I will go have a look meanwhile if you can provide a screenshot from Intel XTU, it can atleast show that throttling is from EC/BIOS.. Throttlestop should work in almost all cases but lets see if there are any updates.

Can you give me your current EC/BIOS full name? its needed.

here is a picture from xtu while I was oced my 780m:post-4314-14494996128346_thumb.jpg

As you can see on 99% im running at 3.19mhz 4 cores:(and at 45-50% on 3.49mhz)post-4314-14494996128841_thumb.jpghere is the 3dmark11 result:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4800MQ,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-1763

  3. Do you have Intel XTU and MSI Afterburner? Right after benchmarking if you can read the Intel XTU CPU frequency graph, if your Processor is throttling then it can make sure. Otherwise a 240W PSU should be more then enough.. i will go ask someone for BIOS/EC updates but meanwhile if only your processor is downclocking then Throttlestop should stop it, Did you untick BD-PROCHOT and ticked multiplier to turbo and Turned on throttlestop? Just untick everything and only tick EIST and Multiplier.

yea I untick everything you said to me except the EIST and MUITIPLIER. with no real difference:(did you find out any new updates(bios or ec?)

  4. By the way just wanted to ask, are you on GT70 2OD? or similar?

I heard they have this issue of limited power from PSU when overclocking and it starts draining battery to fulfill the power needs?

If that is the case, i am not so sure that Throttlestop will work.

If you can give me your model number, maybe i can ask someone

Hey buddy:) yea I have the ms-1763 barebone just like GT-70 2OD.do you think is bios-ec problem?also I use a modded dell slim psu 240w.thanks man. I also tried the throttlestop 6 with no good results:(

  5. Hey, try using Throttlestop, it solved my downclocking issue

Uncheck BD PROCHOT and set multiplier to turbo and turn on, that should get you rid of downclocking, not so sure about physics score

thanks Captmario!!but where can I download the throttlestop?if I remember correct there is no version available for haswell cpus.right?

  6. The picture shows temps, less then 75C in both CPU and GPU, i solved the problem, my CPU downclocks if i overclock my 680m. i cant overclock :(

I have the same problem mate with you...:(.look at stock clocks:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4800MQ,PowerNotebooks MS-1763 and if I oc my gpu a little I get this physics:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4800MQ,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. 7. @kolias @nabelo: sorry for the wait, i was convince to have already put online the modded .inf but it was on an another forum

    here it is:

Modded .inf for nvidia 314.07 Whql (optimised for Crysis3)

    https://hotfile.com/dl/195032519/b91ded6/nvcvn.inf.html

@nabelo: I have read on some forum that Eurocom is a serious company, ask them if they provide the heatsink, screw and xplate because some vendor sell only the card.

I hope that you won't pay too much VAT like you buy it in US and you live in germany.

@kolias: My secret: I use a modded bios made by @Prema and designed for the P150HM/2860QM couple .

    Explanation from Jaybee83 (NBR member)

"The benefit of this modded BIOS is that the CPU wont be slowed down by its specified TDP limits when its activating its clock boost. Officially, 2860QM CPU is rated at a maximum of 3.6 Ghz Clock boost with one core / 3.5 Ghz with two cores and 3.3 Ghz with all four cores on load. This Turbo Boost is limited by the specified TDP of 45W. Thus, once 45W are reached, the Turbo Boost stops and often doesnt fully reach its maximum potential. So instead of 3.6/3.5/3.3 Ghz you would only reach like 3.3/3.2/3.0 Ghz in reality because the specified TDP is reached before the Turbo Boost can be maximized.

Long story short, this BIOS Mod raises the specified TDP ceiling to 60/70W so that the Turbo Boost of the CPU is not limited anymore and can sustain its maximum clocks of 3.6/3.5/3.3 Ghz at any time "

So you can see that my physx score is around 8100 vs your 7649 score with your 2960QM, my cpu with this P150hm modded Bios give a boost on the GTX680M (I got the chance to have a good card that can run at 1006/2400 with only 1v).

The inconvenient is that combined with the GTX680M OC i need a better PSU (superior than 200w, ordered to a forum member based in scotland) to contain the power consumption of this beast.

Thanks for the link man!!I must give somewhere else some rep and then its all yours....:joyous:

So the real reason is the modded bios 2860qm from the other magition(prema)??

I must do something for that too.....

And i moddify the 240w slim dell psu,and its working perfec.

  8. Some news ... after some week of testing, i think i have found a nearly perfect vbios for GTX680M in P150HM, this vbios is a modified version of the MSI FD provided by SLV7.

    You can find here http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2062-using-your-4gb-gtx-680m-its-safest-full-potential.html

The Gpu with this vbios has a voltage of 1v in charge (0.962v with original vbios, 1.12v with saltius ...), with this vbios i have no shutdown anymore, no throttling ... The idle bug appear only with furmark. Peak consumption 184W peak temp 89°C after 2h30 of Crysis2 (ambient temperature 28°C but with a zalman 3000 notebook cooler)

    Now Some testing (geforce 306.23)

I have one question to make, how is it possible with that clocks 1005/2400,you make 8354gpu score, and me with 1045/2360 (1.05v) i reach this?????

  9. @Vlad

    I've posted a thread here

    http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/2645-220-watts-ac-adapter-msi-gt60-70-a.html

this might help you too btw. I have an msi gt60. Planning to get a 240 watts soon but i think the ec firmware is responsible in handling the wattage of the ac adapter..

When you just use your laptop inside your house, make sure you take off the battery cos your laptop always recharging the battery when its not fully charge (less than 100%).

    @kolias

    What NB do you have?...

    BTW...

can someone also post on ebay on where to get an endplug for msi gt60? I dont know the exact measurements of the plug.... Must need this for that 240 watts delta ac adapter too.

    i have clevo P150HM+680M+2960XM

  10. Just like what I thought the 1.05V vbios is crazy at benchmark.

I managed to get to 1150/2500 in 3dmark11 for 9000 pts graphic score :D

Themperature was pretty much the same with 1.012V vbios pushed to 1100/2500.

And also this vbios is rock stable without any throttle :D

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor, MS-1762 score: P8452 3DMarks

    Wow man thats insane results!!!:frog:

What psu you have with the MSI?

The bios with the 1.012v is saltius?

With that clocks you can play also games?
