  1. The way that guy is writing (the user you quoted named 'Masked'), how it's all constructed, I wouldn't believe anything he says.

There's certain things he understands well enough, but since he orders from w/e OEM's often he believes he has insider information or something. I also wouldnt believe anything he says. He's the type you either accept what he says or your an idiot for thinking otherwise...

  2. Read his other posts, too. Clearly a troll who knows nothing. You can claim to be anything you want on the Internet.

    O C N blows so hard it's censored here. :D

Its really hard to stomach having that forum being my main.

Been considering making this my home for the past few weeks and just removing what little content I have from there...

This thread has been made a news source for the O C N forum.

  3. Has this ever been replicated? I have been watching this thread for quite some time and it seems no one has officially replicated it.

I plan to do something similar to my own y510p. The problem seems to be that the heatpipe will simply kink at the stress point and especially so if you have a flat heatsink. I have read that cutting it open and filling it with sand can allow for it to be molded without kinking the copper but no besides this has done something like that.

In the mean time I have ordered a couple replacement heatsinks to test and learn, looking forward to adding some copper heatpipes to my existing system

EDIT: apologize in advance for the thread necro

  4. Then live with the fact that you are VERY limited to crappy hardware and wont be able to use much superior hardware. Also you can revert back to stock in case of needing to send in for service. I've had my y510p for 1 month and cannot live knowing that I am locked with specific hardware. The steps on installing the modded bios are crazy easy and took me at most 5 mins to do.

But hey your laptop not mine. What is the point of owning something you have no freedom with.

Is this confirmed to work with the 2.07 BIOS version? As of now there is no evidence to support vBIOS mods for the 755m that I know of

  5. Seems to me it would be better to put the OS on there, if possible. Has anyone tried this?

It would be kind of a pain to micro manage your 24GB cache ssd (or smaller) Though if you know how to change where all the folders and programs point to then it could work. It wouldnt be a seemless OS though. fast for boot up and slow at retrieving files lol
