I followed the steps in this article trying to modify BIOS V305 by myself but I wasn't able to find any "infinite loops" in it... Any help?

Hi, @svl7, it seems that there is a conflict between BIOS V2.07 and Logitech mice in UEFI mode with Secure Boot turning off, which stops the system from sleeping. I guess this might be one the the reasons that Lenovo has updated the BIOS to V3.05. Is there any progress in V3.05 project? I'm willing to give it a shot.

With the default one that's in the bios, should be this one, right? 80.07.A8.00.2E
Will mod the ultrabay as well. Flickering might be gone with the mod, but can't promise it.

I'm just wondering how much performance improvement I can get from the upgrade. Can I run Crysis 3 smoothly at high or medium setting after this upgrade?

Maybe, but I can't tell for sure. The 3.05 has a different EC firmware. There are some things we could test, if you're interested let me know, but I won't be able to guarantee that it will work... might cause issues.
Sure, I'm willing to test it out

Right. I've sent someone some files but I never got any reply so far, but it should work anyway:
Downgrade to bios v2.07 by using the attached file. It flashes from within Windows. Make sure AC and battery are connected. Before proceeding to the flash go to the bios and enable bios flashback and make sure you have secure boot disabled.
So is it possible to downgrade to v2.07 first and then flash a modified v3.05?

The 750m model is available now. Don't make much sense buying it discretely though since the retail price is around 200.

They have already released a new firmware that fix the SLI problem on Win 8.1. Just update the firmware and it will be fine.

Just uninstall the Intel driver and use the default one by Microsoft. It'll work just fine.
Or, you can update to the latest Intel driver.

You can take a look at MyDigitalSSD SC2 Super Cache 2 42mm SATA III 6G M.2 NGFF M2 SSD Solid State Drive (128GB). It's much cheaper but the performance is not comparable to Samsung.[h=3][/h]

I also own a 130m model Y450 and I'm wondering whether CPU would be a throttle after the upgrade. Would it be worthwhile upgrading T6600 to P8800 or P9600?

I have a 755m SLI model. Would the modified vbios still be able to work with it?

@svl7 Just curious, how do you extract EC firmware from original bin file?
