  1. What driver are you running? Older drivers perform poorly on the EM series.

wth you talking about? 970m gets 10k on stock. 14k overclocked. his score is 5k something is terribly wrong.

  2. So hello everyone. Today I've gone nuts and decided to disassemble my 2k laptop because I had bad OC with XTU and me as a smart guy... I did not want to ship it to ASUS as****les because they usually bring back horrible hardware in my NEW PC and screw something up anyways:) so this is g751jy disassembly and it is also applies for g751jt.... no stupid questions please however questions are always welcomed even stupid ones ..

    Hey :)

I have to repaste my gpu bro..and pics confuse me i wish you've made a video..can you make a video?

  3. Hey noobie here, I'm having a really hard time with a new Metabox P177SM-A notebook. I installed Win7 Ultimate x64 and loaded all the drivers and had the Nvidia GPU running fine. All of a sudden I had a code 43 in device manager and it wouldn't work anymore. So i formatted my C: and reloaded win7 and it started working again. Had it running for about 2½ weeks and then turned it off and on again and it's got that damn code 43 again. It's driving me nuts. I've used DDU in safe mode and re-installed to no avail. I really think that with the symptoms mentioned that's it's not likely to be a hardware issue, I have run out of ideas and if anyone has any more ideas or has had something similar please let me know.

    Cheers

check that out..it seems to be a driver problem..try to use different drivers.

also try to delete microsoft update KB982526 someone said he removed all the updates from windows and his card started working again. try to remove KB982526 if itdoesnt work dont update windows and see what happens.

  4. Nice job on the 970m! How's the heat after overclocking? Any mods done to laptop?

Thanks mate. The highest I've seen my temps so far is 82C in games like battlefield 4 and metro last light. and yep i hold the highest graphics score in 3dmark11 and firestrike for the single 970m :D and yeah im using a custom vbios made by Dreamonic

  5. I am sure you heard of the vRam issues that causes FPS drops on nVidias GTX 970 (desktop).

What I`d like to know is, if the mobile 970m/980m as well could be infected by this kind of vRam management.

Are there any experiences? What kind of program could one use to test the "speed" of the complete vRam.

    Best regards

    phila

P.S.: I am not sure if one can trust this Rec.exe a.k.a. "nai`s vRam benchmark"

Well my gpu usage drops in every single game at only some parts of it to %60 and i dont know why its not throttling or anything else its the vram for sure.

  6. It looks like a nice little mobile GPU. I'm amazed at how far we have come with laptop GPUs. And I have 60+ years of my life left to live through it 0.0

haha that's true man. i remember couple years back I've had the asus g750 with 765m in it..i would get 4k on 3dmark11. now we are at 13.5k temps are not bad either.but you see Nvidia trying to take that away from us. Hey man i probably dont have 60 years to live like you but i always picture what would pc gaming be like 100 years later.

  7. Thank you, heat is ok now as it's winter. but I see strange colorful flashing like stars on upper left side of screen sometimes in valley benchmark and watch dogs. Could it be memory too high or core?

if you see colorful flashing that means your memory is too high. try to lower your memory..in some games u might not notice it because some games use more memory and less memory than each other if i explained it right.

  8. Is the 970m really safe at 1.2v? Stock is what 0.9v? I'm sure they underrvolted and under clocked the cards potential so they could save performance for Maxwell refresh but still how safe is it? At 1.0v for my Clevo 6GB 970m I am about 67-68C with 200mhz overclock on both memory and core. If I up to 1.050v I'm around 72C but can run 300/200.

well it depends what you consider safe..but so far 4-5 people with asus g751jt using this rom was able to get around 1400-1450 core at 1.2 volt. and temps around 84-85c

  9. I am sure there is a way to modify the INF files in NVIDIA drivers to re-enable overclocking and someone somehow will do it soon if NVIDIA doesn't re-enable it themselves withing the next 5 drivers. We either going to have to use modded drivers when they come out. If they don't we are going to have to either use this 344.75 driver or we are going to have to flash our vBIOS with our max stable clocks so we don't need a utility. then we can use the new drivers. but for now i will just stick with 344.80

  10. You think OC of the card will work despite the restrictive drivers?

    Best regards

    phila

I think it has to do something with modifying the inf files in the driver. But i completely agree with what you said phila_delphia. I am thinking about selling mine already and switch to desktop since like you said AMD didn't come out with anything better close to maxwell. Exactly, NVIDIA has no competition at this point..

  11. Sorry I just got it lol. Thank you. How far can I push it?

that depends on your card of course. so far a few people who i helped overclocking their 970m's was able to achieve a core 1474 mhz and the other one got around 1440 mhz stable..where as i can only get 1400 mhz on the core. like i said every card is different and to find that out you have to keep testing and benchmarking and finding that sweet spot..first if i were you id find the base of the card..what i mean is try to find how high you can overclock stable without raising the voltage and then try raising the voltage. i can help more if you want to add me on steam.

  12. Hello!

Finally! after waiting so long my friend ~¦ Ðrєāmōniç ¦~ worked on this to unlock temp limit and tdp target and actually get them to work right not just change the values of them in MBT. After testing the card it now stopped throttling after 87c and once we prioritize TDP it stops throttling the card no matter how hot it get. so no more Thermal throttling after 90C. constant 1400 core at 1.2 voltage. Tdp value can prioritized and actually it works. Before temp limit was locked and would not work and TDP wasn't also working at all. Thanks to ~¦ Ðrєāmōniç ¦~ for making this possible. I was wondering if anyone else got their 970m fully unlocked yet? I am using Asus G751JT

  13. there you go man ill just share it here. https://www.sendspace.com/file/5kdysl you know how to flash safely and everything right? i don't want you to brick anything :) and nope power and temp target is locked i got it unlocked and i saw that card is not even near tdp so it wasnt doing anything useful for me i locked it again.what do you see in gpu z when it throttles? because mine was throttling due to hot temps at 87c that's maxwell thermal protection throttling the card if its purple. i had to turn the gpu fan %100 and increase the temp limit and max temp limit in vbios to avoid that. no one knows how to disable that yet
