yes like i said I'm looking to under volt which I can't do with this bios if that's an option

I believe I'm running prema's but its pretty old.. i'm looking to try under volting it and see if that helps.

Hey Klem, I have a Alienware 17 r3 980m 4gb I’ve been having serious throttling issues with. I’m looking to get a modified vbios for it if it’s possible I’d greatly appreciate it

The true potential of that card is found with overclocking. I've read tons of posts on other forums about the 680m not performing optimally but with a good flash and overclock it will blow your mind.

Look on eBay for anything used in that price range with a GTX "xxx"m. Most likely it will play those games just fine

Congrats on your purchase. Alienware is the best gaming laptop I have used to date, the 18 is a monster. Did you get SLI 880m's?

I have both (rMBP and MSI GT60 680m) if your going to use the laptop for gaming, go with a pc. They are much more powerful and suited to gaming whereas the MBP is king for ease of use, screen quality, and overall quality. I dont think there are many PC laptops that can hold a candle to the build quality of a MBP

As a GT70-0NE owner i have to say, that considering overall performace of my system im not really satisfied with the purchase ;( i'm starting to think that my unit is faulty since it performs terrilbly in most of the games (i can forget about playing BF3 or skyrim on high, not to metion ultra settings). After last driver update it performs even worse, making it impossilble to play Mechwarrior online on anything higher than medium, causing video-tdr-failures,making me really frustrated

To the point - GT70-0NE dissapointed me (my unit a least)

Any other GT70 owners sharing my problems?

I'm from Long Island and have been interested in computers all my life. Last year, I purchased my first gaming notebook from xoticpc, an MSI GT60 with 680m, 20gb hyperx ram, 750gb samsung evo SSD's, bigfoot networks killer 1202. I am hoping to overclock the 680m and explore its true potential, mobile power has always interested me most. This seems like a great site for a wealth of knowledge and information regarding the subject
