Hey Klem, I have a Alienware 17 r3 980m 4gb I’ve been having serious throttling issues with. I’m looking to get a modified vbios for it if it’s possible I’d greatly appreciate it thank you

The true potential of that card is found with overclocking. I've read tons of posts on other forums about the 680m not performing optimally but with a good flash and overclock it will blow your mind.

Look on eBay for anything used in that price range with a GTX "xxx"m. Most likely it will play those games just fine

Congrats on your purchase. Alienware is the best gaming laptop I have used to date, the 18 is a monster. Did you get SLI 880m's?

I have both (rMBP and MSI GT60 680m) if your going to use the laptop for gaming, go with a pc. They are much more powerful and suited to gaming whereas the MBP is king for ease of use, screen quality, and overall quality. I dont think there are many PC laptops that can hold a candle to the build quality of a MBP

Hello, I'm from Long Island and have been interested in computers all my life. Last year, I purchased my first gaming notebook from xoticpc, an MSI GT60 with 680m, 20gb hyperx ram, 750gb samsung evo SSD's, bigfoot networks killer 1202. I am hoping to overclock the 680m and explore its true potential, mobile power has always interested me most. This seems like a great site for a wealth of knowledge and information regarding the subject
