Quick question- On rMBP laptops with windows, all changes made by DIY eGPU setup software only affect windows and not the Mac side or the UEFI/BIOS, correct? And if need be, you can reinstall windows if there is a large enough problem, also correct? Thanks Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk

Can anyone help me with a few questions about a Sonnet Echo Express SE setup I'm contemplating... With the PCI riser delay mod (a la MystPhysX), do you have to start the computer and wait 3 seconds before switching on the eGPU every time, or is that just during the initial setup? Does your computer always ask if it should boot into windows or DIY eGPU every time it starts, or only with the initial setup? How much of the DIY eGPU initial setup is reversible if there are problems? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer these. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk

It doesn't look like Strandmatte has been on since he posted the steps-by-step on making his Sonnet Echo SE setup. Since I'm thinking about doing the same thing with my 2012 15" rMBP, I was wondering if anyone with a similar setup could answer a few questions before I get started (MystPhysX, you mentioned you had something similar)? Mac Mini + GTX660 + Echo Express + W7 = Black Screen?

Do you by any chance have any pictures of the modified cable? I was also wondering if there was a reason you used the +12V off the PCIe 6-pin connector instead of using it off the ATX connector? If the PSU is a single-rail design, shouldn't it not matter...? I'm asking because Sparkfun has a breakout board for ATX power supplies which would make modification much easier for those that don't have much soldering experience, if the 12V load isn't too strong...
