Oh, I got it. In that case you need a modified ME just like the one Khenglish built for me.

The proper comamand to dump your ME and the results of it can be seen here: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2091-lets-enable-overclocking-all-6-7-series-laptops-20.html#post81703

    Does this works for you?

I get this error on 2nd step in windows and in dos
    2.
So you'll first need to dump your ME FW image. This is done by running fptw64 in windows or fpt in DOS. It needs to be run in a cmd window with admin rights. The command to do so is "fptw64 -d imagename", where imagename is whatever name you want for your flash imagedump. Prema found out that at least on Clevos, attempting to dump only the ME FW leaves out the clock control segment, so you need to dump the whole flash image. Note that you're also getting the flash descriptor when you dump everything, so you can edit it to not require the flash descriptor override to do any flash imagereads and writes.

Maybe I need to change a setting in bios to allow r/w access ??

  2. You should be getting about 5700 or so in your GPU score at 950Mhz, so that's a couple of hundred low, which is not much. I think it's because you're using an old driver, or you might be getting a tiny amount of GPU throttling (either due to temperature or power, but probably temperature if you are getting any throttling).

EDIT: just seen your scores at 960Mhz & the new driver, that looks fine, about right.

I just reran with latest drivers and im getting 5663 graphics score @ 960mhz nvidiainspector / 953.7mhz GPU-Z (im not sure which is displays the corect core clock. gpuz or nv inspector ??

  3. I have different driver, will try your driver and do a rerun...

My Gpu never gets over 85c during long gaming sessions with a 22 ambien temp in the house..

    EDIT ****

Looks like im not hitting 950mhz according to gpu-z, will try 960 in nvidia inspector that may give me 950 in gpu-z. This rerun has been done with latest beta drivers..

    EDIT ****

Cant seem to get nvidia inspector to work at 950mhz core, here is a run at 960mhz -

  4. Hey svl7, would you mind doing an unlocked voltage slider version of the MSI 670MX (1.5GB) vbios on the first page? :) I have a card that I didn't even bother to tweak, just OC'd to 1000Mhz / 2150MHz, it froze after a few seconds, lowered clock core to 950MHz and running smooth like a bird. It smells like a very good chip to me (most 670mx oc's i see can hardly touch 900core at stock voltage, and usually lower memory clocks - i'd oc the memory more but I can't cool the underside chips) and I want to see how brightly it can blaze :D

I'd be happy to drop a few beers' worth in your Paypal.

Sangemaru, can you share 3dmark 11 Performance restults so I can compare :°

Got some great results with my 670mx using msi 1.5gb bios on 1st page -

  5. Instead of 10000 just write something like 10100.

But you should try first playing with bclk in Intel XTU, it looks safer to me.

Don't know how your computer/bIOS will react to failed overclocking, but if it doesn't reset the settings you will be caught in a POST loop and you will have to take out the CMOS battery I guess.

    So, play it safe first...

I cannot change bclk, look in prevois photo at max bclk it is set to 100 and min is 100.. Any idea why this is ?

  6. You are quite right on this. However,

    1) Since the technology is Muxless (ie No extra Hadware required to mux LVDS signals like in Macs), when Nvidia is enabled the IGP is only used as routing to the LCD. So dont lose hope yet!

    2) I noticed this on my Optimus Notebook. When Nvidia is OFF, Everest Engineer does not list it in PCI DEVICES!

When an app/game that is set to use Nvidia in executed, it is only then that the Nvidia GTX 680m appears in the Everest PCI Device listing.

    3) Based on my research on ACPI tables (due to Hackintosh) in order to utilize the Nvidia card, an ACPI function is called (ON) that changes the Power state of the Nvidia card.

The technology is therefore based on OS (software) that calls ACPI table (BIOS) functions to change modes between Nvidia ON and Nvidia OFF.

    4) What we are looking for is not to turn off the IGP, but to have NVIDIA always ON. Then you get unleashed Nvidia Power with the cost of Power consumption.

Based on the above, this can be accomplished either by

a -messing with DSDT (only possible for Hackintosh but not EASY at all)

b -Utilizing an incorporated BIOS feature that has the NVIDIA card ALWAYS ON. This is possible in some Optimus notebook brands but NOT for MSI BIOS.

    5) if ftln's modded bios does that (the b scenario), then this will be possible (disabling Optimus dynamic switching --> dGPU always ON).

@ftln: Can u please list the available Graphics options in the modded Medion BIOS?

Here are all my bios options -

  7. You can not disable Optimus. Because technology Optimus is not only software in bios and drivers! Its also hardware. As you say, LCD connected only to the Intel HD4000. And its not only in MSI. It Optimus for all.

So what is the fastest gpu I can get for my optimus based laptop ?? Is there a optimus bios for 680m so it can work behing the igpu ?

  8. Morning All, thought i would give this a go this morning and unfortunately cannot get past the first step -

Anybody have any ideas what I can do - im on a medion x6823 (copy of ms-16f3)

My bios is here, it has been unlocked and I was thinking that maybe now I have all the advanced options in the bios that I may have a setting to set the flash descriptor overide (gonna make a vid of my bios and upload to YT) -

Here is Whitebook (untested) and Medion x6823 - MS16F3

Unlocked Bios, All options available (disable optimus / dGPU / Ram Speed / RAID and lots lots more) and power management patched to enable native power management on Hackintosh installs.

BLCK is in section - Advanced - Intel ICC - Div2S

Please use this bios only on compatible systems and completely at your own risk.

To bypass secure link / flash errors I always flash using cmd prompt as admin in windows -

Before Flash and after Flash always reset bios to default settings F9

Enjoy and don't forget to say thanks :)

  9. @ftln : Hey dude, would you be interested in modding my bios for my GT60-2oC last gen? I've posted it on post #794

    I dont do mods.

A friend did this one for me.

Just sharing in case any other readers with same hardware want unlock features..

  11. Hi Guys,

I have a unlocked my median x6823 bios "msi oem barebone" and would like to change the size of the IGPU HD4000 memory.

I Have these options but I am unsure of which one to change. Can somebody please advise me which is the IGPU memory -

  12. They are soldered, I can flash them without unsoldering though.

Intresting, could you share details of how you do this ? what tools would I need..; I have also been experimenting with flashing a stock bios but I always get the error - unable to get secure connection. This happens in dos using afudos and also in windows using afuwin !! Is my bios locked down ?
