  1. Yes. As you know all motherboards are not the same. It so happens to be that your limit is 267 as mine so I'll tell you what I did. At that 1250 I left the voltage at 267 and always played with the back elevated and like I said turbo boost off in bios for cpu. However with an i5 this option is negligible. I was using an i7 from the 2xxx series before switching to i5 3xxx series so your case may vary slightly. If you experience game freeze the trip off then increase voltage back to 267. If your laptop should just shut down without freezing then you have to reduce the core clock of either the gpu or cpu. Hope this helped and good luck. Don't forget repast in with a good thermal paste will help a lot if you haven't already done that. I used ic diamond 7c but i hear 24c is better

  2. First off I think you should settle for 1250 @ that voltage. Secondly, gpu is doing hard throttling IMO due to heating or instability. Did you elevate the back of the system for better airflow? Also remember to disable turbo boost on cpu to reduce bottleneck and heat to allow gpu maximization via OC. The gpu temp throttles at 97Oc flat. Also, if you decide to use 1250 mhz, u may reduce voltage to 250 and increase memory to a max of 3000. It's still stable at that but a bit less heat due to lower voltage

  3. Please can you tell us your voltage, core and memory offset, what method of extra cooling you are using and any other possible tips for us to attain that level? Did you disable turbo boost? Did you tinker with bios settings? Dude please share.

  4. thanks so much svl7. Been awhile. Thanks for what you have done and what you are doing for us still. I will be getting the alienware 17 soonest, Hope to see you and yout awesomeness there too.

  5. Thank you so much @Eats7 for your work on this. Running it with no issue. Only thing bugging me know is the 67C thermal GPU limit, any way around this? If you absolutely must have the thermal limit there, would it be possible to raise it to ~85C? It's about what my CPU runs at so it would be a nice even temperature.

    Apart from that, great work!

I use nvidia game ready driver v331.82. I overclocked my rig as follows: 1181mhz for core and 3000mhz for memory and 200mv for voltage. I get 90 degrees on gpu with no throttling, lol and do not have any problems with games at high settings.

After checking, gpu only throttles at 97 degrees.

The funny thing is my scores in 3dmark 11, ice storm and the other one(cant remember name) were high on windows 7 than now on 8.1 and back then i was running at 1070mhz and on 8.1 the memory is seen as being on 1500mhz when running 3dmark but kumbustor and other games run it at 3000mhz.

  6. Its working flawlessly for me. Did d swap awhile back...I think febuary and its still cool. You have to change to r2 heatsink too. Bought mine off of ebay for 600 dollars then. But u will have to reinstall windows afresh because of driver issues. My old 2xxxqm cpu worked well with the new board. Just played ghost recon future soldier on highest settings at 30fps with the new board and its gt650m card. Cheers

  7. Ok so I installed the bios and everything works perfectly except for one thing. The voltage remains at 975mv Max instead if the default 102xx whenever I force p state 5. But if I use nvidia inspector to adjust and don't force p state, I can set voltage to whatever I want. Can anyone help with this voltage issue I have? I really need to b on p state 5. Btw on unlocked a13 bios, voltage is at 102xx mv.

  8. I have an alienware m14x r2 and I can run most games at medium-high settings and some on ultra but I would recommend getting the New Alienware 14 which I regret buying mine without waiting but I am happy with my purchase and I know you will be to :)

The GPU in the m14 is just an overclocked gt650m with almost the same cooling options so i dont think there is much of a difference as my m14xr2 gpu is overclocked. The CPU is the only difference and its not that big a deal to me...its clear that we didnt buy this machine for its cpu
